I was wondering if there was any chance Sorkin had some other political thing in the works, thinking especially of the show he referred to in Studio 60: Nations. This might just have been a fictional thing he threw out there, but now it seems at least one member of the gang has taken on something like it...

Bradley Whitford is portraying the character Mack in a TV mini-series called "Burn-Up ". The synopsis of which goes:

"An oil industrialist, an environmental activist and a politician are in conflict in this drama set around a summit on climate change."

Sorkin, meanwhile, has been working on Charlie Wilson's war, which is political too - as they say: "based on a Texas congressman Charlie Wilson's covert dealings in Afghanistan, where his efforts to assist rebels in their war with the Soviets have some unforeseen and long-reaching effects."
