  • The lyrics for the song are as follows:

    Studio 60 Cast:
We'll be the very model of a modern network tv show
Each time that we walk into this august and famous studio
We're starting out from scratch after a run of 20 years and so
We hope that you don't mind that our producer was caught doing blow.

    Chorus:
They hope that you don't mind that their producer was caught doing blow
They hope that you don't mind that their producer was caught doing blow
They hope that you don't mind that their producer was caught doing lots of blow!

    Studio 60 Men:
Yes it's hard to be a player when at heart you've always had a hunch
To bite the hand that feeds you is a scary way of doing much
But still when we walk into this august and famous studio
We'll be the very model of a modern network TV show!

    Chorus:
But still when they walk into this august and famous studio
They'll be the very model of a modern network TV show!

    Harriet:
I am a Christian, tried and true, baptized at age eleven so
Unlike the lib'rals, gays and Jews, I'm going straight to heaven.

    Studio 60 Ladies:
But if you feel you've been cheated and our sordid content lets you down
We'll happ'ly do the favor of an intellectual reach around!

    Chorus:
They'll happ'ly do the favor of an intellectual reach around
They'll happ'ly do the favor of an intellectual reach around
    They'll happ'ly do the favor of a hundred-dollar hooker's reach around!

    Harriet (whispers):
That wasn't the same thing we said.

    Chorus:
They'll happ'ly do the favor of a verbal euphamistic reach around!

    Studio 60 Cast:
We know the evangelicals are lining up to tag our toe
And then the corporations will not hesitate to pull their dough
But still when we walk into this august and famous studio
We'll be the very model of a modern network TV show!

    Chorus:
But still when they walk into this august and famous studio
They'll be the very model of a modern network TV show!
But still when they walk into this august and famous studio
They'll be the very model of a modern network TV show!

  • When Matt and Danny search for an office, they mention that Lorne Michaels works in New York. This, along with a later explicit reference to "Saturday Night Live", make it clear that SNL still exists in the Studio 60 universe.

  • Guest Host: Mark Wahlberg

  • Season 1 Episode 3: The Focus Group

  • All in the Family was one of the shows given as examples of shows that did well after extremly poor focus group tests. This week's Studio 60 host is Rob Reiner, who co-starred on that show.

  • Guest Host: Rob Reiner
Guest Performer: Gwen Stefani (doesn't actually appear onscreen)

  • Season 1 Episode 4: The West Coast Delay

  • When Matt is looking out the window, you can see the countdown clock behind them, the time in the seconds continue to count down, then the scene cuts back to Matt's head, and then it is back up. The count goes something like this, 40,39,38,35, all the way to like 20, then the next shot of it is back around the 35 area, with no change in the minute section.

  • Simon reads out a cricket score when they first cut in to the West Coast video feed to prove that they are live, but the cricket match he describes, a test match between the Bangalore Union cricket club and the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology, is impossible. Test matches are only played by the national teams of England, Australia, South Africa, the West Indies, New Zealand, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Zimbabwe and Bangladesh.

  • Christine Lahti is wife of producer Thomas Schlamme.

  • Harriet (Sarah Paulson) imitates actress Juliette Lewis during a segment on "Studio 60." Paulson and Lewis played sisters in the movie "The Other Sister."

  • Season 1 Episode 5: The Long Lead Story

  • Guest Host: Lauren Graham
    Guest Performer: Sting

  • Season 1 Episode 6: The Wrap Party

  • In the scene in Matt's office right after the show has aired the countdown clock till the next show reads 6 days, 23 hours, 36 minutes. As stated in previous episodes, the show lasts an hour and a half. At this point in the episode the party has already been set up which had to have taken some time after the show. However, the clock is set as if the show started 24 minutes ago. So whereas the clock indicates that the show is not even one third of the way through, the show is probably over by more than an hour.

  • False fact in the story Tom tells his parents about the history of the building:

The first screen-test of adding sound to moving pictures took place on March 24th, 1921 in Berlin. Dr. Jo Engl, Josef Masolle and Hans Vogt invented the sound-film. In 1926 they tried to sell the patent on the American market after having failed to do so in Germany. William Fox (20th Century Fox) outbid the Warner Brothers.
