      • Graham Greene's novel had been filmed in 1933 under the title "Orient Express", the first movie to be based on one of his books. Greene called the film "one of the worst I had ever seen", but added that this 1962 television adaptation was "even worse". There were many complaints about this version, with the result that an apology was issued by the BBC.
