This is an allusion to Jessica Simpson, singer and star of the reality show Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica. In the premiere episode, Jessica is eating Chicken of the Sea and asks her husband Nick if it is chicken or fish. He must then explain to her that Chicken By the Sea is the brand of tuna.
