Episode Summary

Harvey finds his past coming back to haunt him during a case when a Judge treats him unfairly in court for sleeping with wife; however, it soon becomes clear that's not entirely true. • Thie should be title as "Whose Side Are You On?".

The situations in this episode doesn't refer to any errors and omissions. However, i'm impressed with the plotline on Mike's forces decision in choosing between his loyalities to Harvey (his real boss) and keeping his job as long as long as Louis Litt (Harvey's rival) will help Mike if the latter impresses a young businessman to be his and Louis's client. In the end, Mike realised that he needs to check if Louis has "real bullets" or "empty ones". Mike helped Harvey into making that young businessman to be Harvey's client. This episode inspires us to be careful and be diligent (as well as being smarter than your rival).moreless

Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

  • TRIVIA (1)

  • QUOTES (19)

    • Harvey : What are your choices when someone puts a gun to your head?
Mike: What are you talking about? You do what they say or they shoot you.
Harvey: Wrong. You take the gun, or you pull out a bigger one. Or, you call their bluff. Or, you do any one of a hundred and forty six other things. If you can't think for yourself, maybe you're not cut out for this.

    • Mike: OK, so this was all some kind of test ? You blackmail me, you jeopardize my job.
Louis: Mike stop. We all came out ahead didn't we. That new clients gonna bring us millions. Jessica knows your name now, it's a win win.
Mike: You're right. She does know my name. Which is why she'll listen when I tell her exactly what happened.
Louis: OK, but before you do that, it is that time again isn't it.
      Mike: What time ?
Louis: Pee in a cup time.
Mike: (Mike sighs) And now you know I'd fail.
Louis: Of course, you can run to mommy tell her your story and take your chances. Or you can take the test and trust that I'll keep it to myself, as my way of thanking you.
Mike: (Mike laughs) You know I actually did some reading of the Pearson-Hartman drug policy as well. Turns out you have to wait three months before you can request another drug test, you see it's a little detail you might have missed. (Throws the test cup) So drink up. Oh and, I spoke to Tom Keller, he says he'd be best served with the combination of me and Harvey. Think you'll get that call in the morning.

    • Harvey: Look sometimes when someone pulls a gun on you. Instead of bullets it's filled with blanks.
      Mike: What's this ?
Harvey: It's a copy of your drug test results.
Mike: But this said I passed.
      Harvey: You did.
Mike: Louis showed me a fake ?
Harvey: I'm gonna go have a talk with him.
Mike: You know what, why don't you let me do it.
Harvey: You think you're ready for the adults table ?
Mike: What didn't you hear, I just landed my first client.
Harvey: Why do you think I'm showing you this now, and not going straight to Louis. Go easy on him.
      Mike: Nope.
      Harvey: Good boy.

    • Harvey: When you're finished down here I'd like you to come upstairs, and start putting together a settlement memorandum.
      : They went for it?
      : Thanks to your idea.
: Well, I mean it wasn't really my idea.
      : They're settling for 400 million.
: OK, yeah, that was my idea.

    • Harvey: Donna, tell Wyatt I'm on my way over.
Mike: Do you never have to press a button on there?

    • Mike: You don't even have to pay me alright, I'll work for free.
      Harvey: For free.
Mike: Well I meant, not forever. Just as a probationary thing.

    • Mike: You know what? Maybe it's time you showed me some loyalty.
Harvey: Do you know how long it was before I got to sit at the adult table? It was when I bought in my first client, which I don't recall you having done. And when you screwed up that patent and, Wyatt went ape shit on me, I didn't put that on you, I took it on myself because that's my job. And it's your job to do what I say, when I say it. So If you're talking abut loyalty, you better God damn earn it.
Mike: You're right. I said I'm sorry and I meant it. Harvey I want you to trust, I need you to trust me, okay? And I will work as hard as I can, for as long as it takes to make that happen.

    • Mike: Gosh, you should've seen his face we had a deal.
      Rachel: What deal ?
Mike: Thanks for hearing me out.
Rachel: No what are you talking about what deal ?
Mike: It's nothing I just promised that I wouldn't, do anything stupid and let him down and I did.
Rachel: Wait you let him down, no. The way I see it he let you down.
      Mike: What ?
Rachel: He's gotta know what Louis is capable of, so if he didn't listen to what happened it's because he didn't want to. Mike you need to tell him.
Mike: I don't know how often you come across Harvey but he's not exactly the listening type.
Rachel: Right, but he's also the first person that would tell you never to take no for an answer, from anyone.

    • Harvey: You took Mike Ross on a field trip today?
      Louis: Yeah.
Harvey: Besides from subjecting him to you in a towel, what happened?

    • Mike: Louis helped me.
      Harvey: Look at me.
Mike: And he did this snapping thing. And Gregory.
Harvey: Look at me. You're high. Get Out.

    • Tom: (Talking about Louis in the locker room) Dude creeps me out man, you know he never wears a towel ever.

    • Louis: You know ten years ago before these dot-com millionaires there were men of substance at this club.

    • Mike: Is Harvey back ?
      Donna: No.
Mike: Can I put this on his desk ?
      Donna: Yes.
Mike: Will you tell him I put it there hours ago ?
Donna: What time you want me to say ?
      Mike: 11am.
Donna: Absolutely. And then maybe I can use my access to his bank account to by myself a house in the Hampton's.

    • Mike: I am a sucker.
      (Rachel sighs)
Mike: When did that happen ?

    • Rachel: That explains why he said to give you this (holding up printer card). And why he called you a sucker.
Mike: He called me a what now ?

    • Harvey: If you keep talking, I'm gonna start billing you, and my time runs a thousand dollars an hour.
Mike: But isn't this our time, Mr. Hand?
Harvey: I stand corrected. Your Fast Times at Ridgemont High quote proves you belong at the adult table.
Mike: Hey, that's a great movie and it spoke to a generation.

    • Wyatt: Wow, they're like Stormtroopers.
      Harvey: Stormtroopers don't write checks.

    • Harvey: You did let him win, right?
Mike: Wasn't easy. The guy has the co-ordination of a two-year-old.
Harvey: I know. The last time the venture capitalist came in, I took him boxing to calm him down. I basically had to punch myself in the face to let him win.

    • Judge Pearl: You think you can get away with screwing my wife and then have me investigated?
Harvey: You actually have it the wrong way around. The only thing I've done so far is have you investigated.
      Judge Pearl: What?
Harvey: I never actually slept with Lauren. But I knew you'd never believe me, so I kept my mouth shut. But now that she's getting a divorce, my policy no longer applies. And of course she's free to date whoever she pleases. And she pleases me. Enjoy your evening, Donald.

    • Harvey: (walking into a huge room with stacks of document boxes everywhere reaching to the ceiling) I always heard about this place. Which room is Hoffa buried in?
Mike: I'm not sure, but the Ark of the Covenant is just down the hall on the left.

Harvey's question is an allusion to the many myths about where Jimmy Hoffa, the famous leader of the Teamsters labor union, is buried (i. e. under Giants Stadium in New Jersey). Mike's response is a reference to the 1981 movie Raiders of the Lost Ark, at the end of which the Ark of the Covenant, having just been recovered by Indiana Jones, is seen being wheeled into an enormous government warehouse.

    • Wyatt: Wow, they're like Stormtroopers.

This is a reference to the Stormtroopers army of the Star Wars films.
