Meanwhile, when Nikki's poem is chosen for publication and she is asked to read it in front of an audience and Amber offers Nikki alcohol to steady her nerves. After learning of Bradin and Nikki's troubles, Ava returns home from her European business trip.moreless

"The Space Between Us" contains several themes that have been present since the beginning of this series.

Ava given custody of her sister's children despite her unconventional living arrangement has from the beginning realized that she needed to change her lifestyle. Her decision earlier this season marry Simon was made, in part, in an attempt to provide a more traditional home life for her niece and nephews. At the last minute she realized that she still loved Johnny and canceled the wedding. In this episode she decides that the time has come tell Johnny how she feels. This may be another sign that the series will end with three more episodes.

Braden's behavior is another constant. Since moving to California he has gone through three intimate relationships. First he was involved with Sarah, a rich troubled girl who got him into trouble with police. Next he was involved with Callie but broke up with her to begin an affair with Erika, at that time his high school surfing coach. In this episode her acts out against Jay who is one of his parental role models and begins hanging around with a group of surf bums. The fact that they are using him for his fame and money is just beginning to sink in.

Nikki, a high academic achiever, is at an age where she misses the guidance of her mother more that the two siblings. Her fear of public speaking is a sign of her lack of self-confidence that has been shown mostly in her awkwardness in boy/girl situations. Reading the poem to the conference is big step in her growing maturity

The life lesson present in this episode addresses is alcoholism and child abuse. Nikki's boyfriend, Cameron, lives with single parent father. This week we learn that his father is drinking heavily and has been physically abusing Cameron.

This episode a slight improvement over last week. I still can't help feeling that the season ender is being set up for a conclusion rather than a cliffhanger.moreless

I have watched summerland since the begining and it keeps amazing me from every episode that I watch. I am never broed.I ahve never misssed an episode and dont count on it anytime soon. This episode shows new lengths for the show adn proof that is can go a long way towards many more seasons.

I HAVE BEEN WATCHING SUMMERLAND SINCE THE BEGINNING. THIS SHOW IS VERY INTERESTING AND FUN TO WATCH. IN THIS EPISODE THEIR WERE FAMILY ISSUES BETWEEN BRADIN AND JAY. JAY WAS TRYING TO HELP BRADIN. BRADIN APPEARED TO BE UPSET. WHEN AVA HEARD THE NEWS SHE Cmoreless

This show was very interesting and fun to watch. In this episode Their were family issues between Bradin and Jay. Jay was trying to help Bradin but it never got resovled. Bradin had these groups of friends and they had a party in Ava's beach house, while she was in Paris. Jay caught them eating popcorn and watching a tv program. Jay had a problem aswell as Bradin,but they did not get in a fight, but almost did, but it was tempting. When Ava herd the new she could not belive her eyes. Season2 is beyond exciting and fun.

Bradin comes back to playa linda with a bunch of bad guys, ava comes back home, nikki gets entered in a poetry contest and she has to perform in front of a lot of people and jay teaches some lady to surf because she wants to impress her son.moreless

Bradin comes back from his surf thing and he brings back a bunch of bad friends who drink and use him for his money, they made him buy a 7 thousand dollar t.v. and jay gets mad at him and yells at him in front of his friends. His friends make him say things about erika that make her mad so she got mad at bradin and throws soda on him. Ava decided to come home early because she thinks that johnny and jay need help with the kids. Nikki is affraid to go in front of a bunch of people and read her poem so her friend makes her drink a drink with alcohol in it and she gets drunk. Jay helps this lady to surf and then the lady likes him and they kiss, Ava and Johnny hold hands at the end of this episode, i think they will get together at the end of the series.moreless

Bradin comes back...and brings trouble with him

I was glad Bradin came back from the surfing gig, but boy did that change him. I actually do kind of feel bad for him because his friends are soooo using him. I mean leaving him with the check? Come on! Bradin did have attitude with Jay and definately needs to change how he acts. Jay and a new woman...kind of interesting to see! I still like him with Erica though! Ewww...Derrek and his hair!...make me puke! That's just gross and he needs to chop it off! Johnny looked good...though I wouldnt mind him with short hair again! Ava coming back right after she finds out something is wrong? Typical Ava, haha. Nikki and the beer...haha that was funny. She like wasnt drunk and then the next minute she was...kind of funny haha.moreless
