I picked the Minnesota Vikings to win this game, and much to the surprise of many, but not me, they did win this game. It was just a bad situation for the Philadelphia Eagles as they already had the NFC East wrapped up and very well could be playing the first of three games in 12 days. Easy to not try that hard in this one.

But let's not discount Joe Webb's efforts as he did a strong job as the Minnesota Vikings quarterback. My guess is Brett Favre will play somewhere else next season and I think Webb is the right fit for a Vikings offense that will need to evolve.

Fun game for a Tuesday night, but I don't think I want to see this for awhile.moreless
  • Mike Vick's MVP Drive Derailed

We had to wait an additional 48 hours for this game and it was quite the surprise. I'm not sure anyone saw this coming. The Eagles were riding high after their miraculous comeback against the Giants and the Vikings were playing out the string of a disastrous season. Yet for one night we saw the Vikings defense of 2009 that harassed the quarterback and generally shut down a potent offense.

It was nice to see Joe Webb do well and the Vikings were full value for the victory. Antoine Winfield had an amazing game, highlighted by the touchdown return of a Vick fumble, which he caused. If not for the fumble-fingered Viking secondary, Vick could have had four interceptions to go with his two lost fumbles.

This is a continuation of an NFL season where every time we think we have something figured out, we don't. Philadelphia is now the #3 seed and will face the weaker of the the two wild card teams. I expect they will win, but whoever they play has a blueprint on slowing down their dynamic offense. If it's Green Bay, they have enough talent on defense to pull it off.moreless
