EDIT
Thingy
AIRED:
After saving a small abandoned creature from an avalanche of rocks on Shuggazoom's moon, Ranger 7, Chiro takes a liking to the little guy, and, much to Gibson's dismay, adopts it until they can find its true home planet. At first Chiro has a blast with Thingy, until weird things start happening. The Super Robot's functions go out of wack, even dumping Gibson into deep space. It seems as if Thingy is to blame, but it turns out that a virus created by the Skeleton King is making the Robot fall apart. To make matters worse, the virus has infected Gibson, transforming him into an evil mutant minion of the Skeleton King!moreless

  • The best of season 1, no doubt. Gibson was awesome in this.

Let\'s face it guys, the show hadn\'t become amazing yet when this episode showed up. You know the story that\'s been done so many times; a team member finds an abandoned creature and adopts it and it causes trouble. As cliche\' as the plot sounds at first glance, this episode is nothing less than original. Everytime you think you have it figured out, there\'s a twist waiting for you to feel secure so it can jump out and startle you.

It also has a deep plot for the episode length and it pulls it off. A lot happens here, but nothing feels rushed.

To top it off, production was the best yet. Gibson\'s voice acting when he goes evil is something Tom Kenny should be proud of. Gibson saying \"listen to the boy\" and admiting he had the virus still sends shivers up my spine. The writing was clever. I enjoyed the evil version of engaging the robot. Poor Gibson got beat up so much in this episode. The animation was also well done. Several of my favorite shots are in this one, not to mention the awesome character designs. The infected Super Robot was great.

This was a great episode, period. It almost frightens me to admit that I liked this as much as the I, Chiro-Savage Lands saga. Deffinatly the best episode of season 1.moreless

Never at all did I feel disappointed while watching this ep the thousands of times I watched it. Yes, I watched it over and over and over again. I loved it. Thingy gets you hooked, the excitement keeps you watching, and the ending gets you laughing. I especially got a laugh out of the Super Robot's evil form. My sister and I nicknamed him the "Evil Dustbunny."

Poor Gibson, though. He turned evil because of Thingy's virus. Hopefully, he won't turn evil again. However, the ending was hilarious.

Loved this ep. End of story.moreless
