Does it bother anyone else that the show rewrites the stories to the point the original's moral/message is lost or even contradicted? Why not look for stories that actually suit the message of the episode rather than radically altering classics?

According to an interview in the PBSKids.org parenting pages, Angela C. Santormo and Samantha Freeman Alpert, who are the executive producers of the series, took a "Fractured Fairy Tales" approach to the stories and altered them for educational purposes. This is public television (and Kids' CBC in Canada) we're talking about here. When those children get older, maybe then they can rad the real stories.
