In an effort to protect Kal-El, the future Superman, a 13-year old Kara Zor-El was launched from Krypton moments after her baby cousin. On route her vessel was trapped in The Phantom Zone, a timeless drift delaying her arrival. When Kara finally arrives on Earth she finds her baby cousin has grown up and already made a name for himself. Without a mission, the now 24-year-old Kara must find her own way as both a woman and Earth's only female superhero.
