How can a school of electric eels come to Aquaman's aid in the open oceans? Electric eels are found in northern South America in both the Amazon River and Orinoco River. They tend to live on muddy bottoms in calm water.
Some people wonder how it is that Aquaman could telepathically communicate with seagulls, as it's generally thought that this power only extends to creatures that live under the sea.
Aquaman's telepathic powers are such that he can communicate with sea life with the greatest control, but he has been known to use this power on other animals, but it is to a lesser extent.
When Lois and Aquaman were on the motorcycle headed for the cliff, why did Lois assume he could fly when it's obvious that Aquaman is a fish guy with the emphasis on Aqua?
Aquaman: Tell the surface dwellers to respect the sovereignty of my seas, or we'll return and finish what we started.
Atlantis warrior: My king, we wait your command.
Lois: He's a king? Just when you think you know a guy...
Lois: Aquaman, huh?
Aquaman: Something wrong?
Lois: No, it's just that I always thought you were an urban legend.
Aquaman: Nothing urban about me.
This episode was nominated for a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Achievement in Music Direction and Composition.
In the previous episode, Lois, after getting her skirt blown by the passing Superman, says "I gotta start wearing pants". In the beginning of this episode, she does.
Jimmy uses the Silent Watch from "Superman's Pal" to call Superman for Help.
The producers favored Aquaman's classic orange and green suit over 1995, Conan-esque revamp. However, by the time it came to bring him onto Justice League, Team Timm had warmed up to the revamp and dropped their STAS design for the JL Aquaman.
In this episode, Aquaman is played out to be very gruff, with a take-no-prisoners attitude, not to mention the army at his command. This is probably to counteract the image many have of the SuperFriends orange-suited superhero (i.e., that he's weak or his abilities are usually useless in battle). Aquaman goes on to appear in Justice League, in the episodes "The Enemy Below," "The Terror Beyond," and "Hereafter," and is even considered for League membership in the latter.
Allusion: Superfriends
During Aquaman's undersea battle with LexCorp's submarines, the sound of Aquaman's telepathy used to summon the electric eels sounds similar to that of Aquaman's telepathy depicted in the old Superfriends cartoon.
