TV Guide has provided the Superman Homepage with an exclusive look at the new direct-to-DVD Superman animated adventure.

Dana Delany and Tim Daly will reprise their roles from Superman: The Animated Series with an all-new DVD movie from Warner Bros. Animation later this year.

In Superman: Brainiac Attacks, the Man of Steel faces a combined threat from his two biggest foes, Lex Luthor and Brainiac. But perhaps even more daunting will be getting in touch with his feelings for Lois.

Be sure to grab the January 30th edition of the TV Guide magazine (which subscribers will start receiving today and which hits newsstands this Thursday January 26th) for a larger picture and more details.

Not that I would mind seing it, but why are they making a DTV for a cancelled series 5 years ago & not for JLU? Is it just b/c of Superman Returns? Should we read anything into this, in terms of the future of JLU or other DCAU shows?

So what? They did Batman: Mystery of the Batwoman, and that was a Gotham Knights movie.

Also, wouldn't the Superman movie take place during the 96' series instead of after it? At the end of the last episode, the entire city and the whole world hates him and Professor Hammiton is afraid of him, which is not a great place to start a movie since Supes didn't had many friends to turn to.

I'm kind of hoping that this movie will take place after or during the recent JLU storyline. Ideally, it will take place after this season of JLU where the Legion of Doom storyline has been resolved. It seems like it's kind of going to be a standalone movie, though. Either way, I'm hyped for it.

It's probably going to be next year. Remember how Batman Subzero was delayed at least 3 years cos of Batman&Robin?

We will know where it is if they have Turpin. It is kind of wierd, the story seems to be simliar to that of the arc used in the previous season of justice league.

Clancy Brown and Corey Burton do not reprise their roles from S:TAS.

    Which is unfortunate.

The good news is, Tim Daly is returning as the voice of Superman. I'm pretty sure Dana Delany will be Lois, and David Kaufman, Jimmy. If they're featured.

But Clancy Brown IS Lex Luthor and Corey Burton IS Brainiac, it's going to be weird without them, but I'm still going to watch it.

Yeah, I was disappointed when they replaced Bane and Penguin's original voice actors in the Mystery of the Batman movie. I'm guessing they might digitalize Brainiac's voice like they did on Static Shock to make him sound like a real android.

I just hated how they included Bane simply to give Batman someone to have a stupidly big fight scene with at the end.

Plus, Rupert Thorne was totally abused. >__0 Really out of character. (What was with the card deck >.>?)

And I never liked the Penguin, so eh.

But the actors playing Braniac and Luthor seem well trained and such, so it still might be okay.

Though, given Luthor's design, and the way that Luthor's new VA has been reported as portraying him (Like Gene Hackman from the original Superman movies.) I think we might have a mixed bag =S.

i hope this is set pre-JL and post-STAS. That way, they could explore deeper into exactly what Supes did to regain the trust of the people of Earth after the whole Legacy takeover thing
