It is implied that Lashina is in an intimate relationship with Superman while he is under mind control. In the previous episode, she is standing in his bedroom when he wakes up from a bad dream, and in this episode, she refers to him as her lover.
First and last appearance of the Superman Robots. Unlike their comic book predecessors, these robots are not autonomous, their actions and speech must be remote controlled by a living person.
Granny Goodness's version of Superman's life on Apokolips mirrors imagery from the opening credits, such as baby Kal-El being adopted and Clark learning to fly. Only they feature Granny and Darkseid instead of the Kents, and take place on Apokolips as opposed to Earth.
This episode seems to be loosely based on an Elseworlds tale called "The Dark Side", in which Kal-El's rocket lands on Apokolips instead of Earth. Other similarities include Superman's black-and-red armor design, Darkseid adopting him and an attempt to invade Earth.
