During Superman and Livewire's last fight, after she screams "I'm Livewire!" Superman's gloves disappear and reappear from shot to shot.
Superman: That's enough, Miss Willis.
Livewire: It's not "Miss Willis" anymore. Meet her replacement. (creates a costume out of electricity) Livewire! Neat, huh? I ionized the air around me. Pretty form-fitting, don't you think?
Livewire: (to Superman) Well at least we now know that you hit girls.
Livewire: (to Superman) So much for Mr. Goody Two-boots.
Lois: And the crowd turns ugly...
Jimmy: The crowd showed up ugly!
Lois: (About Leslie's 3rd Anniversary Celebration) I can't believe they're not calling off this fiasco! Jimmy: I've seen street riots more orderly than this...
Lois: Huh, looks like Mother Nature isn't one of your faithful fans.
Leslie Willis: She'll come around. Everybody else does...
Leslie Willis: No one's that nice for free, people! The Man of Steel is pulling the steel wool over your eyes! Don't buy into that act of his! Just say NO to Superman.
According to Evan Dorkins, this episode's writer and Livewire co-creator, Leslie Willis's take on Superman was originally suppose to have more backing it up. One of the earlier proposals for the animated series featured more public fear and mistrust of the alien Superman. That effect is lost here, in a series where Superman is generally well-liked and even beloved by the people.
Lex Luthor appears, but has no lines.
The villainess Livewire was created purposely for this show. The character was later transferred into the DC Comics continuity, much like Harley Quinn from Batman: The Animated Series.
Livewire: If I can make it here, I can make it anywhere!
This is a paraphrase of one verse of Frank Sinatra's "New York, New York."
