  • Did the movie Slither steal this storyline?

    9.4
If you loved the movie Slither, then this episode is for you. This episode is so much like the movie, it isn't even funny. An entire town is taken over by aliens who join with the greater alien, sound familiar? I don't understand what's not to like about this episode. It is indeed creepy, but that is it's appeal. The idea of aliens taking over a town is creepy and some of the scenes are kind of gross, but I wouldn't have it any other way. Overall, this is just a really cool episode, especially if you like the movie. If you have never seen the movie, check it out and you will see the similarities too.moreless
  • Creepy...

    7.5
We get to see this episode go back to smallville. The kent's , jonathan and martha start acting weird and it is all because of some priest guy that comes to town and inplants them all with aliens. As usual Superman and Supergirl save the day. I think that this has to be the most screwed up episode of this show that I have ever seen. You have aliens tenticals coming out of peoples mouth. The writers of this show could have probably done better than this. it is only a filler episode. I gave it 7.5 because I like seeing supergirl in episodes. Later...moreless

    • This is the only time in the series when x-ray vision is used as a weapon.

    • Supergirl pets her cat, who is brown with a white streak down her back. In silver-age stories, Supergirl had a super-cat named Streaky. The cat reappears in the Justice League one-parter, "Comfort and Joy."

  • ALLUSIONS (3)

    • Spider-Man

On the bus, Kara glances at a comic titled "Spider Power". The character on the cover has a costume very similar to Spider-Man, and is in the character's iconic web shooting pose. This is a reference to Marvel superhero Spider-Man.

    • Supergirl: Does Pastor Ross knows about this?

This a reference to Clark Ross, a minister father of comic book artist Alex Ross, whose favorite superhero is Superman. Alex Ross used a priest based on his father as the main character in the story arc, Kingdom Come.

    • Reverend Howell: Appearance and Demeanor.

Reverend Howell seems to have been based on preacher Harry Powell, the main villain of the 1955 film noir Night of the Hunter.
