Show Summary

Superman: The Fleischer Cartoons is an animated action TV series developed by Fleischer Studios based on the DC Comics's powerhouse Superman as the superhero faces off against criminals and disasters alike in these seventeen short films. In 'The Mad Scientist', when a scientist devises a ray to destroy the city's tower bridge, Superman has to find a way to stop the city's destruction while saving Lois from the scientist. In 'Billion Dollar Limited', Superman rushes to save Lois and a speeding train from derailing, along with the car carrying explosives. In 'Showdown', Superman tries to clear his name when someone looking like him starts robbing banks and jewelry stores. From criminals out to capture Lois to a revived mummy, Superman utilizes his powers to save the day as he fights for truth, justice, and the American way. The first short of the series, 'The Mad Scientist', was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Short Subject: Cartoons.
