You don't need kids to be a nanny. Just an education. Thats common sense.

That is true...you don't have to have kids to know how to handle or take care of them.

Good point.  I agree that one doesn't have to have children to be effective in dealing with them.  She obviously gets results.

yes I agree....I have seen some 6-7 episodes and I`m disgusted by this SHOW. Putting people problems in front of a camera where a woman who don`t even know what`s its like to be a mother is just making money outa people`s problems.

Well the family's problems are fixed, now aren't they. And it was the family's choice to be on camera, they called her.

This post is absolutely ridiculous, because I amNanny for family here where I live I am always commented by other friends of the family that I am wonderful with the children (all 3 of them) I personally don't have any kids. So I don't think having kids or not having kids has anything to do with being able to control children or geteffective results. I use Supernanny "theories" alot with the children I work with and every one I always get postive results. So before you call someone a fraud you need to reexmaine yourself

    Exactly.
Plus Nannies are able to do what they do because they don't have kids of their own to take care of.
So they spend the time helping with others.

This post is just a riot, imo. For ages and ages, nannies and nurses took care of other's children because it's often the PARENTS that have no idea what to do. As evidence by this show.
TOO bad more parents aren't nannies FIRST, then decide to have children!!

If she had children of her own, wouldn't she then be criticized for leaving her family to do a television show. It's a lose, lose argument. She does good work, especially with young hard-to-manage children.

There are many mothers out there who are unfit. Having a CELL grow inside you for 9 months doesn't suddenly make you a good parent. It's the development that you give the cell that makes it a human child

Here's some definitions for you: Fraud - a person who makes deceitful pretenses; sham; poseur. Jo (Super Nanny) makes no deceitful pretenses about her CLAIM to possess the ABILITY to bring peace, order and a deeper sense of love to dysfunctional families, as proven again and again by the numerous parents and children whose relationships ARE now happier and healthier. It is not neccessary to HAVE children in order to be able to DELIVER on a CLAIM. Idiot - a person who freely uses the word "fraud" without knowing what the word means. Libel - A crime for which an Idiot may be charged for a false "fraud" CLAIM. Origin:

i don't really think she's a fraud, but i can get how people could question her because she doesn't actually have her own kids. but her methods seem to work though

I love this show and you don't need to have your own kids to have an affinity with them. However, what drives me mad is her poor use of English. If you're trying to teach children anything, the least you should do is speak correctly. Jo pronounces the word 'acceptable' as 'asseptable' and 'exactly' as 'ezzackly'. She also says 'anythink' and 'nothink'. We all have regional accents but I have many friends from London and none of them say any of these words as Jo does. However, I think she does a grand job and I hope the families continue her methods when she's gone.
