I'm guessing it's only for this episode and maybe for the season finale. I'm guessing that because we've never had one before, and I'm guessing that it's just to recap what's going on for new viewers.

Anyway, the song that played during the "previouslies" was "Carry on Wayward Son" by Kansas.

There is no theme song, there is no intro, that song was just for the last episode.

It might be used in the season finale as well, but I agree with you, Pedroff. That wasn't the theme song.

Any one know if some one put it on the internet, I want to show it to my friend.

Pretty sure it'll be on youtube. Just give it a few days to get on there.

I wish we could get a theme song and title sequence for season two.

I like it the way it is, I hope they keep it the same.

Yeah, I'm used to this. The show has good music DURING the episodes- they don't need to pick one song for the theme. It's good now... they could screw it up if they picked the wrong song. Like, I've never thought that Charmed's theme song had anything to do with the show at all. Then again, I love the theme song for House, even if it's just instrumental. The instrumental ones seem to be the best- The X-Files, The Office, House...

I also think that if there's a title sequence there will also be a "previously on SN" bit as well, leaving less time for the actual show.  That's kinda what we saw this week, the song bit was so long, there was less show time (the comercials were really long too).  But I think they should have one or the other, and they need to have the "previously" because there are new viewers all the time, and they need to know what's important for that episode.

Hey, people agree with me! I thought I was the only one who thought the music video sequence was a little much.

I liked it, I was just a little dissapointed that it took away from the episode time, and I don't think I would like it if it was an every week deal.

Before Lost no one complained about title sequences. They're 30 frickin seconds, people! Networks do not use that 30 seconds to stick back in a deleted scene, they use it to stick in an extra commercial.

And most theme songs get ME more hyped up for the show and fit the show perfectly - Alias, So Weird, The X-Files, Miracles, Tru Calling, Point Pleasant, House, The Office, etc.

The Office is the theme song that gets me pumped up the most for the show. It's like, "yeah, Office, rock on!" But Supernatural has all those entities to act as the "rock on!" factor. It doesn't need a theme song. And I think the "Carry On My Wayward Son" was distracting. it seemed like a music video some fan created, which would be fine to watch at your leisure, but not in the actual show.

I haven't seen the ep yet so I have no idea what you guys are talking about.

But if Supernatural had credits I'd want it to be more "abstract" in style, like Kingdom Hospital. Cool images that somehow relate to the show, not just clips like most theme songs.

I liked it, thought it was well done and clearly aimed at hopefully some new viewers! But I wouldn't want it every week, agreed.

I'm not complaining about title sequences, but they really do nothing for me. I know I'm in the minority, but I watch 99% of my shows either later from my DVR, or at least 15-20 minutes after the show starts from my DVR. And I fast forward through the opening credits, it's a waste. I watch it once or twice at the beginning of the season to see what, if anything, changed from last season as far as clips, and from there on out I skip it. I much prefer the previouslies, not that I would forget anything about SN, but because that gets me psyched about what the show is going to be about. That's my $0.02.

Actually, the show still ended 4 minutes early with the episode clips at the beginning.  I remember because my roommates shouted at the TV when the To Be Continued flashed up four minutes early.

Personally, I LOVED it when they used teh Dave Matthews Band opening...I hate Dave Matthews but that song WORKED for Supernatural.  But it doesn't matter to me what they do...to me it's does not matter as long as we get the stuff in the middle between the beginning and the end

Out of My Hands by Dave Matthews was played during the previously on for the Wendigo episode.
