Out of all the male characters that have died, which do you wish hadn't and why?

I chose those 5 because I thought they were the best examples of recurring characters who had died - I know there are others, suggest them if you want. e.g. Uriel, Hendrickson, Samuel

Or did he manage to escape when Lucifer went angry on him? My memory is a bit vague on that but if he did die, I would say him.

Issac. I know he was only in one episode, that he was pretty hard on Sam and Dean and that he was intended to die from the start but it would be nice to see a husband and wife pair of hunters working together and fighting evil as a loving couple.

It would kind of give hope that there IS a balance and that while you can't have a normal life you can still have a good one.

Barring that I WISH someone would bring John and Mary back (the older versions) and have them working together as hunters for an episode or two before they have to move on to the afterlife proper. It would be fun to see them together, it would resolve the issue of where they are since they're apprently not in Heaven and it would be a nice send off for the characters.

GABRIEL...IF he is really dead. My second choice was Rufus because I think the show needs other hunters in the game plus he wasn't against the Winchesters nor was he buddy-buddy with them which I liked. Plus I liked the dynamic between him and Bobby

Of the list, Balthazar and John are my top two.

But to be honest, both died for particular reasons. John's death, like has been said before, was a pivotal moment in the plotline and Balthazar's death did serve to show Castiel's descent though with Cas' new powers, he may bring Balthazar back since they were friends and he may want to give him a second chance to show his loyalty.

Outside of the list, Gabriel's death is the only one I could think that shouldn't have died as he added so much to the story with just a few appearances and he had so much more to give to it as the wily Trickster

From the poll Rufus and Balthazar. I loved R since he came during season 3 and Bobby/Rufus grumpy old men routine was hilarious! I loved their relationship as well. B grew on me I understood he had to die but I was coming around with this character. Honorable mention:

Gabriel, from season 5 like Balthazar they had alot to add and they weren't all the way evil or good but they SPN prtrayed them as neutral sometimes and grayish which was pretty good in terms of storylines.

Hendrikson, from season 2

Gordan, season 3 I understand why he was gonna be killed but it would have been interesting to see his pov when the angels first showed even though he was insane.

What would have been REALLY intresting would have been Kubrick since he came off as so relgious.

The courrpt angles would have had him wrapped around their little fingers all the way.

Balthazar, out of the options given. And of course Gabriel was a favorite, but so far I don't think I've heard of anyone NOT liking him. All the episodes he were in were awesome, but he went out in the name of mankind so it's all good I suppose. And I really loved the scene between him and Lucifer, where it gave old Lucy some depth when you could see how emotionally upset he was about having till kill his little brother. Still, you never know, maybe he'll return one day. After all, this is Supernatural. No one has to stay dead forever.

Maybe they're intentionally not mentioning him becasue they have some plan up their sleeves and they want his return to be a suprise.

Of course as soon as they start showing him in the recaps at the start of the episode and we see his name in the credits the suprise will be ruined anyway.

John died at the right time, but I'd have made John a bigger focus of season 1, showing his hunting on his own, instead of leaving it all offscreen. Adam and Ash could of gotten more to do. I'd close Adam though, I dont know, they didn't even bring him up at all during season 6. He was like a plot device, nothing more. They could of kept Adam for a real propert demon of the week episode, then do the season 5 final storylines.

Rufus, again like Ellen and Jo, they should allow Sam and Dean more allies, instead of just having Bobby do everything. I love Bobby, but its boring that they only run to him for help, give them more allies.

At first Adam didn't make much sense to me. I mean they had been telling us from the start of the series how much John loved Mary, he uprooted his family and devoted his every waking minute to avenging her death and clearly still missed her very much so the idea of an illegitmate son out there seemed odd.

Then we saw in "My Bloody Valentine" that that they were only together becasue of a Cupid. We saw in "Dark Side of the Moon" that their marriage was WAY more rocky than we had been told and it all kinda made more sense.

I would like to see Adam come back in a big way. Like I would love to see one of the courrpt angels bring him back somehow and have him be so scared and angry for being forgotten and left in the cage for so long that he comes back out of for blood.

Be nice if they did it over more than one episode and give Sam and Dean an enemy who is not only flesh and blood human but part of their family too.

Hmm that would be a great set-up for the final season, having him as the villain, or a season in general. A villain who is not a demon, but someone who is family, I suppose Cas is already doing that, but I'm talking about a human villain. Yeah Mary/John were not so rock solid as we thought. But I haven't been impressed with John, as the series goes on, he isn't that great a legend as Sam/Dean thought. I also hated they are only together because of Cupid.

Well, it IS chancy and brave to take something central to the main story (John and Mary's relationship) and to play with that and suggest maybe it's not what we thought it was, but I THINK they pulled it off and it fits with Heaven wanting the proper vessles for Micheal and Lucifer and assuring they got it by using a Cupid.

It also makes me wonder if John's obession with avenging Mary's death wasn't BECAUSE of the Cupid's effects. I mean none of the other fathers who lost wives became hunters and while, yeah, he was a marine and marines are the type to not take things lying down and yadda, yadda, it does add a nice extra level to add the Cupid aspect to the story.

I also wonder if other couples who had special kids where joined by Cupids or if it was just John and Mary since they also been to be only ones who had two children who fit the role of Lucifer and Micheal (unless on of the twins from "Simon Said" was supposed to be Micheal, probably the one who wasn't killing people).

wow im late..i didnt even knew this one was up b/c i wrote on the one bout what female character sholdnt have died.

the characters i think shouldnt have died are:

1.adam- i think there more could have been donewith his character.some as mentionhe was bascially aplot device.thats what i feel like they just brong in adam as a way to move the story on.now that he is gone the chapeter still has little wholes in it for me,dont even get me started on the no mention of him in season 6.

2.balthazar-i dont knw why i like him but he got this style an the way he carries himself which is very refreshing for a character.

3.ash-why oh why did they kill off ash.i liked ash alot he as came along way like misha.(ash was on buffyand misha was on charmed).i like him b/c he had all the comdeic stuff going.i cant even think of a character that even comes close to ash comedic stuff.

those the characters that i wish to see more of and that i think shouldnt have died adam,balthazar and ash......

Well, Ash was okay in small doses but when he was on too much his persona got a little gratting and the less said about the episode where he opened the door to his room naked the better.

Still, I think he got caught up the Roadhouse Hate and everyone and everything connected to the Roadhouse had to be destroyed. I think the only reason Ellen made it out of the Roadhouse in the first place was becasue they had to get Ash's file somehow.

Might have been better if Ash made it out to give to them (espcially given the mess with the watch and his corpse) but then again his suprise return in Heaven was a nice final send off for the character.
