  • Awesome!

Rich and Laura are trapped underwater. Miles and Phil try to look for Nim along the dock. It's a really good story, I had a really good time watching this episode. We see more of Savannah's good side. I like the way characters make them interact with each other, they don't look dull, the relationships play out well on screen. This episode is really good, I had a really good time watching it. It's another great episode from Surface. I hope the producers are working on a movie or a mini series so they can finish the story. I love this show.moreless
  • Huge gaps in logic and continuity

You know, I'm not picky about continuity issues in movies or TV, but too much is too much. I mean, you can get away with moving two parallel stories at different speeds, but in this episode the characters in the sub give us a 1 hour deadline while the rest of the plots move forward at least two full days with their nights.

And then there's the magic physics that apply to the capsule, illogic reactions of many characters and the overall lack of verisimilitude. I saw this on a boring summer night rerun and even watching it out of desperation to be entertained I was disappointed.

  • Enjoy the show despite problems.

I agree with other posters (e.g., DrNuclear)that the apparent lack of a college graduate on the writing staff is this show's Achilles' heel. The 10,000-feet-underwater (or whatever, it was deep)in a boiler with BOAT windows bothered me. There are and have been plenty of shows which have problems with common knowledge. Like deep sea pressure or starship noises in space. That kinda thing.

I can still enjoy this show, however. It's entertaining enough that I can suspend my disbelief and have fun with it.

I have to DISagree about the B-plot, "A Boy and His Mutant Lizard". I personally think this show would benefit from that plotline being majorly reduced. It's nails-on-chalkboard annoying.

BTW, what's the deal with the little lizards? Different species?moreless
  • I love this show!!

    I like surface.

I think the character I like the most is Miles.

most of all the relationship that he had with nim.

If someone doesn't like it, dont see it :)

I like the story, the cast and the creatures,

I didn't expect Dr. Cirko's death, but well, nothing is perfect, you know!

well I'm right here waiting for the next episode, I was wondering the whole week, so ...
  • it was very good. i loved it. it would make you more exited about seeing it again next week. fantastic show. great.

Picture and sound was awsome. I cant wait till the next episode I look forward to it every week. I met Carter an Eddie a few times which made it really intresting. I hope every body will enjoy it as much as I do. I started watching it on episode 7 I missed episode 8 but my Grandpa told me what happened and I got to see episode 9. I hope this show will be very succesful. I have never really been a fan of science fiction but I love Surface. My Mom watched it to and She said she would definitly watch the next one. Surface is one of my new favorite tv shows. Cant wait to see what happens :)moreless

Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

  • TRIVIA (2)

    • When Rich and Laura are free of the bottom and engage the life raft, there is no cable trailing behind (remember the cable that dragged them down to the bottom). And they don't have any means to bring the exit out of the water, because the submersible will hang under the lift raft below the surface.

    • Dr. Myers (Coroner) mentions that he wants Miles to take the specimen to the "zu-ology lab." As a scientist/doctor he should know that it is pronounced zoh-ology (long "o") not zu-ology.
