It is with great sadness that I post the death of SurfSide 6 star Lee Patterson.
Patterson died after an illness on February 14, 2007. He was 77. His death, for some reason, was not made public until October 23rd.
Born in Canada, Lee Patterson had several movie and guest-starring roles under his belt when he was cast as senior partner Dave Thorne in SurfSide 6 opposite beefcake heartthrobs Troy Donahue (who died in 2001) and Van Williams (one of two surviving cast members -- the other is Diane McBain). The series lasted two seasons.
Patterson continued in movies (he had a brief role in Airplane! II - The Sequel) and TV series, moving to soaps in the late 60s when he was cast as Joe Riley on One Life to Live. After 11 years on the show, his character was killed off (in typical soap opera fashion); however, he returned to the series a couple of years later playing Riley's previously-unknown twin brother (which is also typical soap opera fashion).
Farewell to Lee Patterson, 1929-2007.
