  • Pretty interesting but disappointing boot.

641854/#reviews Certainly a pretty interesting episode - there was a lot to like about the challenges - both were very closely fought and both had late comebacks. I think the tribe split is good because things seem quite even at the moment.

Nonetheless oen tribe has to go to Tribal Council - and it was La Mina'a turn. I'm very sad to see Misty go - she was definitely among my favourites at this point. I wish she could have gone furhter. I am surprised they didn't take out Sally after she lost the spear though.

Meanwhile I wish the boys decided to stick with the girls - it would've been a lot better. I don't like Dan, I hope he goes home soon tbh.moreless
  • "These guys are playing for keeps." Words of prophecy? Or faulty prediction? The lines are drawn at La Mina!

    9.0
Bruce tools on Melinda. Casaya is much better off with their new leader. Bruce's vast experience comes in handy, and secures a position for the only castaway not picked for a tribe in the last episode. However, his 24-hour lesson would be cut short, as La Mina, seeing the strength he instills in his tribe, send him back to Exile Island as part of winning the Reward Challenge. Brilliant. This is the first time the winning tribe sends a member of the losing tribe to Exile Island, a twist that would be re-used in many subsequent seasons.

Bruce has now lived on Exile's beach for longer than any other beach. If he doesn't have the Idol by now, I don't know what's wrong with him. He better find it or else the next person sent there will. The clues seem to have narrowed it down enough by now!

Despite fights and their incohesion at camp without Bruce, Casaya actually ends up winning the Immunity Challenge. They finally ended La Mina's 5-challenge streak. Seems sending Bruce away wasn't the right move. So now it's time to dissect La Mina.

Austin and Nick are in the best position. Both the Older Men (Terry and Dan) and the sexy, Younger Women (Trish and Sally) want to ally with them. Ultimately, the Younger Men wanted to keep La Mina strong as a tribe, and sided with the stronger, older men. I think strategically this was a mistake, as they should've allied with the Younger Women. But maybe they thought they weren't trustworthy, whereas Terry and Dan appear so. We will see if Austin and Nick's trust in Terry and Dan proves wise. Ruth Marie, the lone Older Women in this tribe, manages to avoid getting das boot in the first episode.

It wasn't shown, but perhaps the Men all wanted to know if Misty really had the Idol she claimed to have. Well, she didn't. So she went home. Next time, don't put a target on your back, fool.

I feel bad for Sally, who seems like a great girl. From thinking she's in control of the game, she suddenly finds herself on the chopping block. I hope she doesn't go next if La Mina loses.moreless
  • Boy Bruce is unlucky, but maybe he was better off.

    8.2
Well Bruce is off to Exile Island again! It\'s a bit unlucky seen as he cannot get fire and the rain would make him really COLD, but he does have a bit more of a chance to find the immunity idle.

I think that they are getting luxury items way too soon. In the early Survivors it was a lot harded and they didn\'t get these things until closer to the end. I also wouldn\'t mind a change of location too! Africa and Australia were great!

Misty is gone, well thank god! She seemed a very snobby person in my opinion. Her flirting didn\'t work with the guys either.moreless
  • Please vote Shane off the show!!! He is nuts!!!

    8.7
It never takes me too long to find the one person on Survivor I can't stand. This season the award goes to Shane. He has some serious issues, and he can't keep his emotions in check for nothing. One min, he is okay, the next he is yelling at the top of his lungs. The man has emotional problems. Is it just me or does this season of Survivor seem like the most rainiest yet?

The immunity challenge in this episode has to be the best one by far. I taped the show and watched that part of the show 4 times!!! I thought it was great. 2 men vs 2 men, 2 women, vs, 2 women, 1 woman vs 2 men, 2 women vs. 1 man. When Bobby just grabbed Ruth Marie by her shirt and dragged her to the mat, I was up jumping around and yelling like a mad person. I thought that was a smart, smart move.

Looking forward to the next episode.moreless
  • This week I learned that Shanes a psycho and Danielle's got big...

    8.8
When this season started I actually liked Shane. Granted the guy has shown flashes of being a total A-hole, but I think that was part of why I liked him. He's unpredictable. Factor in the nicotine withdrawal and he's a virtual time bomb. The slightest thing sets him off. I know people like this. You really have to pacify them. With his psychotic behavior, I don't expect him to go to far, but I really hope he does just to watch him crash and burn. What a train wreck. Again, I only like him for this reason. Don't get me wrong, If I had to deal with him I'd want to whoop his ass.

And then there's... Dannielle... Ahhh yes. At least I think it's Dannielle I'm thinking of, I'm not too sure what her face looks like.

The immunity challenge was one of the best I've ever seen. I mean, that's action. What a fine way to size everyone up. Who's the strongest, who's the quickest, who's got savy, who's got enough self control (to not cop-a-feel of Dannielle), and who's got the endurance and the toughness to compete in this gruelling and unforgiving challenge. So electric!

I'm turning 32 next month. I tend to believe I'd aly myself with the older guys. They take the game much more serious and they're good at thinking ahead. Not to mention they can still physically compete with any of the younger dudes (well, except maybe that frail lookin' astronaut guy).moreless
