Episode Summary

The morning after Russell is voted out of his tribe, Krista and Stephanie are now on their own, especially after Ralph shows his hidden immunity idol to the others. Meanwhile, the Ometepe tribe members continue to feel annoyed with Phillip. Later, on Redemption Island, Russell loses the duel and manages to get Ralph to spill the beans on the immunity idol that he has, allowing Kristina and Phillip to learn this new information. Back on the Ometepe beach, Rob goes on the search to find the new hidden immunity idol and is successful in finding it and keeps it a secret. Afterward, Zapatera win the reward/immunity challenge and are excited to enjoy a large feast. Meanwhile on Ometepe, the females of the tribe feel very strongly about voting out Phillip, but some of them are suspicious of Kristina.moreless

I can not believe Russell Hantx is gone! The second person voted out of this game (technically third voted out, but second to be eliminated).

I will miss Russell. I never want to see him win, but I alsways want to watch him play. He is a phenomenal player, you ahave to admit, even if you do not like him.

As for the rest of the episode, meh. Nothing unpredictable happened, although Rob's control of Ometepe tightened.

I am cheering for Stephanie and Krista on Zapatera, aka Russell's alliance. On Ometepe, m y favorite is Andrea, but I pretty much like the whole tribe.

I thinkk that the game wil not be as exciting with Russell Hantz gone, but I still think this season will have the potential to succeed.

Russeell, you will be missed. Once again, I must reiterate, that I never wanted Russell to win, but I really wished I could see him play and manipulate much longer.moreless
  • As soon as he sets foot on Redemption Island, Russell vows to get back into the game and make his former tribe members pay for voting him out. At Zapeterra, Rob continues his mastery of the game and his tribe.moreless

In this episode we see the two veteran players go in complete opposite directions. Russell goes down in flames (Maybe I should say tears?) and Rob continues to soar. Rob accomplishes something he had never done in his previous appearances and continues to do a superb job of controlling his tribe and the outcome of the Tribal Councils. The fact that the vote went exactly how he wanted it to go is proof of that. After losing the duel to Matt, Russell says he is done with Survivor. I sure hope so. It's time to make room for new players.moreless

  • TRIVIA (1)

    • Russell Hantz becomes the second contestant to have played three or more times and still never sit on a jury after Rob Mariano. Russell also becomes the second contestant in "Survivor" history to play the game three times and only be voted out once after Amanda (during "Heroes vs. Villains").

  • QUOTES (6)

    • Rob: Hopefully, all these guys get in line like they should and do as they're told. If not, I'm not in control of my tribe after all.

    • Kristina: (referring to Phillip) The specialist thinks he's running the show but the specialist is just one big windbag so I'm going to let him dig his own grave.

    • Rob: (after finding hidden immunity idol) Maybe I learned something after last time.

    • Russell: (after losing the duel and being eliminated from the game) It's just terrible when you play with people that didn't really come here to play the game. They just came here maybe for fame or just for the money. This is my last time I'm playing this game. That's it. I have nothing left to prove to me or my family. Matt, I give him props. He beat me and I hope he goes all the way.

    • Russell: (referring to upcoming duel with Matt at Redemption Island) This duel, it's going to be man on man, good versus evil type thing. I like Matt. He's a good guy. If this was the real world, I'd be rooting for Matt but it's not. This is Survivor.

    • Russell: (referring to Matt on Redemption Island) Right now, this is his house but I'm about to take it from him. I'm going to keep winning. My tribe is going to come here one at a time and I'm going to pick 'em off and I'm going to mae 'em suffer. I'm going to say "Sleep in the mud, fool".
