Survivor Forums: Rocky seems like Boston Rob

    aside from the fact they both have the heavy boston accents, it seems as if Rocky is going to end up playing the game the way Rob M played all-stars and maquases

    Why would you say that? Boston Rob was a great player; Rocky hasn't shown a single good game move yet. I fail to see any connection other than that Boston accent.

    He is nothing like Rob. Rob had people believen in him and then back stabbed them. James has done nothing but irritate everyone in his tribe.

    I agree, other than the accent and originally being from Boston, there's not much similarity between the two. Boston Rob began playing the game like the "Godfather" pretty quickly beginning in the Marquesas season and I've yet to see Rocky do much of anything strategy-wise. He may later on, but not so much now.

    Rocky is just a complainer. He hasn't done a thing strategcially. He is no Boston Rob.

    Rob despite being a jerk, was smart and had the brains and brawns. Rocky has brawns but no brains and plus he is irritating.

    At first I had high hopes for a Boston-Rob-Like player in Rocky, but as time went on he slipped further and further away. He does not have the brains NOR the brawn that Rob had. He went head to head with Edgardo and lost pretty good where as Im sure Rob would have beaten him.

    Second of all there is no such thing as a jerk in the game of Survivor. I hate when people confuse a game for a million dollars with some sort of place where people gather to make "lifelong friends" The point of the game is not to be nice, its to come out a millionaire.

    There not there to make friends, but the only way they will get enough votes from the jury is if they treat other players with respect. Boston Rob lost All-Stars because he didn't treat anyone with respect.

    Even though Jeff says that All-Stars was Rob's Survivor, those votes that were for Amber were cast against him.

    exactly, that's the point...the only way he could get to the top was by backstabing people and made a lot of enemies in the process, which caused him to lose the game. If he's such a good player he would have found another way to get to the top 2. He's a great player, but not good enough to win.

    You know what, even though he didn't win All-star, he won the girl that won All-star and to me, that's worth more then a million bucks.

    Other than a similar social and geographic background, they are nothing alike. Rob was social, he was smart (yes, smart), he was strong. So far Rocky doesn't match up on any of these.

    I think he was good enough to win but the votes didn't pan out. The best players aren't always the ones that win. Rob was clearly the one who maximized his chances of winning and that, to me, is the sign of the best player.

    in my opinion, rocky may play a more important motivational role for his team than we really know....he brings that bartender 'go get em' type attitude that may help them one day.....he may also be a destructive force, but it's something i noticed....you know how a good bartender can be sort of inspirational?  he might still be that
