  • Ep 6: Cao Boi creates "Plan Voodoo," two people are eliminated

    8.0
I figured that, at some point, the show would need to do a double elimination, if only because there was no way 20 people would be able to be whittled down to 2 or 3 in 39 days without it. Fortunately, it was a solid episode filled with a lot of scheming and some interesting twists.

First off, despite how annoying Cao Boi was, I still wish he made it a little further. He must've been a casting director's dream. Anyways, Cao Boi comes up with a pretty good (but ultimately pointless) plan to weed out the hidden Immunity idol: have three people vote for Candice and three for Jonathan. If one of them has the idol, they'd be forced to use it.

It's a good idea, in theory, but he also makes the mistake of not considering Yul as holding the idol. As a result, the tribe pretty much sticks to their alliance and votes out Cowboy. I like how the Aitu tribe has subtly shifted around. Ozzy was pretty much a goner at one point, but his athleticism, resourcefulness and general good-spiritedness makes him a far cry to the guy who threw the second challenge of the game.

With Raro, their woes continue as they lose yet another challenge and are forced to vote out another member. Interestingly enough, we had a double elimination, where each tribe had to vote someone off, regardless. It seemed inevitable that Cristina would be next to go, but part of me was hoping she'd stick around. What can I say: I'm a sucker for the underdog.

During Tribal Council, we also got another twist: Aitu was able to take someone from Raro and save them from being voted out. They get to stay with Aitu until the next Reward Challenge. It's a cool twist, and ultimately, Nate gets it, which is really only bad for Cristina, since she basically lost a vote that would help her. As a result, Cristina goes home.

Another good episode. Still not liking this season as much as Panama, but it's not bad. Also, that Immunity challenge was awesome. I love the physical challenges.moreless
  • Terrific!

    10
A great episode today with a Double Tribcal Council. I love it when they have the Double Tribals but there should be the opportunity for Individual Immunity, I feel. That wasn't the case today.

'Pla Voodoo' was very interesting and if Cao Boi had more bodies in his army he could have pulled off a great move, but I think he was just getting on people's nerves sadly... :/

As for Raro, I was really hoping they would take out Jenny, especially with the way they were talking about it all. But as soon as Aitu kidnapped Nate, I thought the numbers will be disappearing and that proved to be the case sadly.

I'm very sad to see Cristina go. She seemed like a great lady. :/moreless
  • Why have two tribal councils?

    8.0
I have to give this show an "above average" rating due to the fact that I absolutely loved the challenge. Any time that Survivor does a physical challenge, it is always more fun to watch. Case in point--it was great seeing all of the tribe members take their aggressions out on each other as they tried to remove one person from a large telephone pole and drag them across the sand. I was quite impressed with Candace and Ozzie. As for the double elimination night--why even have a larger number of people only to have multiple boots in one night? It doesn't make it more exciting for the viewers. Come on, Mark Burnett. Think of something new!moreless
  • Interesting episode, loved the challenge!

    9.3
I must say that this episode was good, but it wasn't AS riveting as the past ones have been. However, I LOVED the challenge, seeing everyone scrap it out really brought a animalistic approach into it. How awesome was it that Candice held out for so long??? I couldn't believe how fast they got Nate off the pole. You'd think the guys would be able to hold on for longer. But *tsk tsk* on Cristina for pulling the hair, although I'd love to say I wrestled a cop too! I have to say too that I think everyone is going to find out that Yul has the immunity, especially if he tells more people. And what about that Tribal Council?? I can't wait for the merge when Adam and Candice are on the same tribe again...if they can last until then. It could prove for an interesting alliance...or heartbreak...who knows. And Candice what a player! First Billy now Adam...what does she think she's doing hehe. Her and Adam are cute together, and you never know what might happen. Look at Rob and Amber..ya never know. Can't wait for the next episode after this weeks recap!moreless
  • Double elimination

    9.2
First of all, there is a correction to be made and that Jenny didn't get voted out. It was a double elimination as it was Coa Boi and Cristina got voted out of Aitu and Rara respectedly. And that Coa Bois tribe got to eat supper as well as spare Nate from immunity, which I thought was a dumb mistake on their part!

    • Cao Boi says the name of the episode when he woke up from a strange dream that spawned a plan he called "Plan Voodoo" to reveal the hidden Immunity Idol.

Also he said he saw someone being kidnapped.Nate got "kidnapped"by the other tribe for a certain amount of time meaning his dream was true

    • The voting out of Cao Boi and the feast of lamb after his voting out could be a metaphor for cannibalism or The Custom of the Sea. The Custom of the Sea was a maritime custom in which stranded survivors draw lots to see who would be killed and eaten so that some of the men might live. Since lamb in ancient times where used in sacrifices, and in Christianity bread was a metaphor for the body of Christ this straightens this theory.
