  • The twenty second season ends with a thud. No surprises at all. Just more of the same.

"Four times playing the game, ten years, one hundred-seventeen days...." How many times was Rob going to say it? Enough already. In the end I congratulate Rob on a game well played and a hard earned victory. He says this is his last time playing and I sure hope so. It's time for him and Survivor to move on and pass the torch to a new group of players. Phillip is not only a nutcase, he's an idiot. Did he actually think he had any chance of winning after he insulted and belittled numerous members of the jury? That's all.moreless
  • Didn't live up to my expectations.

This was an episode rsulting in mixed feelings for myself.

Firstly, I was thrilled when Andrea returned from Redemption Island, and I hoped she would go all the way, so obviously the subsequent events did not please me.

Ashley's lucky streak began irritating me, as it cost both Grant and Andrea a potential crack at the Final Challenge, and potentially a meillion dollars.

I was happy with the final elimination, as Ashley was definitely my least favorite Omeptepe member.

I did'howerver, find the last Tribal Council to be quite weird. Both Natalie and Phillip bascially stated that we couldn't have done it without Rob - they spoonfed him a million dollrs, which he did not deserve. Phillip should've won - Ralph earnt a lot of respect from me with his vote. Phillip was, for 1all 39 days, at the bottom of the Totem Pole, and he made it this far.

Anyways, a decent seasons all up, with a disappointing ending. Can't wait for the enxt one!moreless

Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

FILTER BY TYPE

  • TRIVIA (5)

    • Natalie joins Russell from "Heroes vs. Villains", Mick from "Samoa", Stephen from "Tocantins", Sugar from "Gabon", Cassandra and Dreamz from "Fiji", and Becky from "Cook Islands" as the only contestants to reach a final and not receive any votes to win.

    • By winning season 22, Rob Mariano improved on his three previous finishes. Furthermore, Rob has now played four times and has still never sat on the jury. He was eliminated pre-jury in "Marquesas" and "Heroes vs. Villains", was second place in "All-Stars" and was the winner of "Redemption Island".

    • Although the final four did participate in the Rites of Passage ritual, it was cut from the episode due to time. It was the first time in the history of the show that this ritual was not shown during a season finale.

    • Over the course of his four appearances on "Survivor", this is Rob Mariano's ninth time winning individual immunity. Also, Rob has now spent 117 days playing Survivor, more than any other contestant (breaking Parvati's previous record of 114 days).

    • Throughout the season, Matt spent 27 days on Redemption Island and only 9 days at his tribe's campsite.

  • QUOTES (5)

    • Rob: (voting for Ashley at Tribal Council) I've never known anyone that could lay in bed day after day, each day.

    • Rob: The problem is if I want to get rid of Ashley, I have to get Natalie on board and that is going to take some work.

    • Rob: I've played this game four times. Do these guys not realize that? Do they not realize that I can pretty much predict what they're going to do and say before they do it?

    • Mike: (after learning the upcoming duel will be the last) The Redemption Island purgatory is coming to an end.

    • Rob: (referring to voting off Grant) As much as I like to think I'm a cold hearted, calculating player, it still does get me a little bit, you know? I got a heart in there somewhere.
