Episode Summary

Jalapao returns from Tribal Council and while Taj is relieved, Joe is more concerned about his weak relationship with the others along with his infected knee. The rest of the tribe is more worried about an upcoming merge since Timbira has more members than them. On Timbira, "Coach" starts the day with some meditation and warms up to his tribe mates. The two tribes receive tree mail and after they meet, they discover that they have now merged. During their feast they decide on a new tribe name, Forza. After arriving at the campsite, "Coach" approaches J.T. to talk about the game and creates a new alliance along with Tyson. Meanwhile, Joe and Erinn realize one of the immunity idols has already been taken and create their own voting strategy. After the Immunity Challenge, medics look at Joe's infected leg and warn him about the consequences of staying in the game. Back at camp, Tyson's new alliance plans to vote for Brendan but he tells the rest of the tribe that he's voting for J.T.. Suddenly, Jeff Probst approaches the tribe at camp and gives them news about the night's Tribal Council.moreless

  • The Dragon Slayer is born.

This was a great episode despite a really sad outcome at the end. You don't ever want to see anyone lose like that - it's not the right way to go, but sadly it happens.

The Immunity Challenge was interesting. Also the merge has seemingly put that group of Jalapao in the swing position instead of being sitting ducks, which I think will make this game really interesting!

It's shaping up well. Nothing was revealed because of the episode's injury, but they built it up superbly and the next episode is promising!moreless
  • Feel bad for Joe and Coach becomes cocky.

    8.0
In this episode, the two tribes merge and become the Forza tribe. Coach approaches J.T. and Stephan about forming a five person alliance with Tyson and Debbie to take out Brendan. With the alliance Coach becomes overly cocky and names himself the dragon-slayer. In the endurance immunity challenge, Tyson wins the challenge ensuring that he makes the jury. Back at camp, Coach and Tyson scheme and feel confident that their loan will work and that Brendan will be blind sighted at the vote. However, Joe had to evacuated due to his injured knee therefore there is no tribal council and everybody is safe for three more days. I feel bad for Joe because he could have made it far in the game, but I am glad that Brendan got saved.moreless

  • QUOTES (8)

    • Taj: I can't describe Timbira. I really want to know what that word stands for because it could mean confused. Coach & Tyson want to blindside Brendan. Brendan is trying to vote out Tyson or or Coach. We haven't even had to really put any plans into action because they're to busy trying to get out their own tribe right now! We're like: OK, Do what you gotta do and we'll come in later.

    • Joe: (after being told he has to be medically evacuated) The doctor said if it got bad, which it would have if I would have stayed, that I'd, you know, could potentially lose my leg or lose my life. This game is cool but it's not that cool. Uhhh, I don't wanna die. I'd rather walk home.

    • Tyson: I never liked Sierra ever. I have no clue why she is out here other than to just give hope to stupid people around the world.

    • Tyson: (after winning individual immunity) Yeah, so, I kiss ass like I always do and, uh, if any of you ladies want my phone number, I guess, uh, ask.

    • (during Immunity challenge)
Erinn: Tyson, you be careful you don't fall off.
Tyson: Don't boss me around, lady.
Erinn: I just don't want you breaking your pretty little face.
Tyson: That's true. It is my money maker.
      Erinn: I know.

    • Tyson: (referring to Brendan) He's like putty in my hands. I can mold this game however I want right now.

    • Tyson: I'd like to get rid of Brendan. He's the biggest threat. He just seems like a sneaky bastard, ya know. I can't look him in the eye and believe a word he says. He can look me in my sweet blue eyes all day and 'I'll tell you sweet nothings and you'll believe all of them'.

    • Coach: I have a lot of emotions going on. I have said that I felt that Brendan was maybe a little squirrely but if you flat out lie to me, you better be prepared to go to war!

  • NOTES (3)

    • Dr. Lucy McKinnon, a member of the Survivor medical team, appears in this episode.

    • Joe is not voted out, but is removed from the game due to his infected leg. Joe is the sixth contestant in series history to be forced to leave the game due to injury or other medical reasons, joining Mike Skupin, Bruce Kanegai, Gary Stritesky, Jonathan Penner, and James Clement.

    • Tyson wins the first individual immunity.
