I enjoyed this episode, because of the food challenge. I wonder how many people could eat what was set in front of them here. I think I would gag on the first bite too. I thought the immunity idol would be pulled up before someone would be voted off. I was guessing that Sylvia would be digging in the dark or something, but instead had people observe her right there searching for the idol. I wonder if anyone questioned her off camera?! Maybe it didn't register with them on what she was up to. Sylvia apparently didn't have any time to enjoy her stay before leaving. She left like a sport.moreless

Ravu finally gets fire. About time! I now have a favorite which is Michelle because she started the fire and proved girls can do as good as boys. I don't get why you have to give the idol before the vote. Thats dumb! Or maybe they wanted it to be used because it wasn't last 2 seasons but it is still dumb! I totally laughed at the reward challenge! Everyone falling over was funny! I laughed when Gary took that hard fall! HEHE. I don't really like him. I think people could do better because some were like total whimps!moreless

Ok, so we have the Moto tribe which is living in luxery and the Ravu tribe which has nothing. Who do you think will win the challenges? I'll give you one guess. Not to say that the Ravu kids aren't putting up a fight. On the contrary the challanges were relatively close and the teamwork in Ravu was better than we've seen before, they just couldn't pull it off. This episode basically proves that medical emergencies are now a staple in Survivor episodes. Gary or "Papa Smurf" takes a fall during the reward challange and gets hurt. Back at camp he says he can hardly breathe. So the Survivor medical team comes. No offense, but I would nt want these people looking at me if I was hurt. They basically tell him to walk it off. Great. Alex, the Harvard boy, thinks that Gary has a broken rib. So far that doesn't appear to be true, but like I said the Survivor medical team probably couldn't even diagnose death. So Moto wins reward and takes fishing gear home. Ravu gets nothing, but Michelle managed to start fire with eyeglasses so Jeff gives them flint. More "We're gonna come back from behind." and "The underdogs can win!" pep rallies go on at Ravu as usual. At Moto, the survivors are worried about Gary's health and if they can win the challange with Gary being in the state that he's in. Mostly the latter. Alex says that he's worried and that Gary's health is more important than the game to Moto. Yeah right. I can see that little glint in Alex's eye. The kind that says, "Once we lose immunity, we now have an excuse to boot out someone other than me!" Anyways, the immunity challange turns out to be an eating challange. And, surprisingly, the food isn't that gross. Moto wins because Sylvia and Anthony weren't pulling their weight and now Ravu has to vote out somebody else. Now let's go back a sec. After the reward challange, Moto got to pick someone to go to Exile Island from Ravu. Apparantly Moto didn't know what strategy was and they picked Sylvia. So Sylvia, the fiercest competitor ever in Survivor history*, gets another clue to the whereabouts of the idol. She tells us that she knows where it is. About 2% of America believes her. After the immunity challange she knows that she made quite a lot of boo boos at challanges and will most likely bee going home if she doesn't find the idol. So she proceeds to do nothing. Apparantly she cares about whether people see her looking for it. Um, Earth to Sylvia, if you don't find it, you go home. Who the hell cares if they see you have it. They'd find out later anyways. Just go crazy and buy yourself another week. Eventually this hits Sylvia and, like a first-grader in a sand box she starts to dig with a rock on the beach, taking her sweet, sweet time. Meanwhile a few people are plotting against Anothony because he didn't give it his all in the immunity challange. At tribal council, Mookie and Anthony have a b*tch fight and Sylvia just sits there like a rock, unconcerned about what's going on around her. The votes are cast and Jeff asks if anyone would like to use the idol. Sylvia's expression just says, "There's an idol? Well damn it! If I had found that I could be safe!"
There are a couple votes for Anthony, but Sylvia goes in the end, still wondering what the hell happened. She thought she was Survivor's sweetheart!
All in all this episode didn't really need to exist. We all saw it coming. But it is worth watching, just to see the development at camp.

Poor, poor Ravu tribe. You just have to feel for them. Their camp sucks, they haven't won anything, and they are starving. Atleast on this one, I thought they would win the food challenge, I mean you know they were hungry, but I understand they didn't have the saliva to swallow. It's probably more crappier then we realize. I have watched this show since it started, and have never seen this before. I think the Moto tribe is spoiled and they don't realize how good they have it. I haven't picked my favourite yet, but I sure am rooting for the underdogs....GO RAVU!!!moreless

Ravu lost their third straight immunity challenge, which I thought they would win. It was an eating challenge, I believe the first one in a long time. Like Rocky said, they're "stahvin' here, bro." But they just couldn't win. Shame. A one-sided Survivor isn't usually very interesting. Still rooting for them, though. Why? Because Yau-Man is da bomb.

How 'bout that fire? Props to Michelle. I don't really like her much, but I did find her letter to the sun kinda funny.

The reward challenge was great. I can picture Ozzy from last season doing that one. Among the luxury items, I think I saw a guitar. I dunno, if I had to choose between fishing gear and my guitar, I'd probably take my guitar. Anyway, that seemed like a fun challenge... for those who didn't fall. Poor Gary. I wonder what really happened to him.

I also wonder how Moto comes up with who they want to send to Exile? Picking Earl last time didn't really make sense. I'm guessing they sent Sylvia back so that she could find the idol and then force her to use it, knowing that her poor performance at the challenge could rack votes up against her. I guess that's smart, since they would have one less idol to deal with. I believe there are two hidden idols this season. It's probably one on each camp.

Other little things... Mookie's taunting. I don't think that was necessary. It just confirmed that he's pretty arrogant. Rita's vote for Earl was interesting. She surprised me, in a good way, when she said that she wasn't gonna be bullied into voting for someone just because someone else wanted her to. A lot of strange votes this season, I must say.

Looking forward to next week, as always. Hopefully Ravu will get it together.moreless
