Episode Summary

Things seem to be looking up for Kucha - their winning streak looks to be restarting, as they steal the Reward Challenge from right under Ogakor's noses, and they create a new kind of food: Kucha corn, made by heating up chicken feed. But the same fire that cheers the Kucha tribe up turns suddenly volatile when tribe "leader" Michael passes out from smoke inhalation, and falls face-first into the camp fire. Mike is flown away to a hospital via helicopter, leaving his tribemates behind. Meanwhile, the Ogakor tribe, given the bittersweet gift of Mike's elimination, worry about what has happened when they receive treemail announcing the accident. Next week the tribes will merge on equal ground - who will come out prosperous?moreless

The episode began with Jerri and Amber talking about chocolate which annoyed Colby because she was talking about him. The reward challenge was won by Kucha in which one person had to guide the team while blindfolded to get water in a large bucket for chips and mountain dew. The loss made Ogakor discouraged because Kucha was beating them most of the time in the challenges and one more loss meant that they would merge down 6-4. But at Kucha Mike fell in the fire and had to be put in a helicopter and evacuated out of the game which was really sad. This was a really sad episode because Mike fell in the fire and had to leave the game.moreless

This show with Mike Skupkin falling into the fire and passing out.
    Will be indeed a classic.
Had not Michael fallen into the fire, I think he would had made the merge.
Not just the merge but would crack in the top two.
But had he not fallen, Kutcha would stil be 6-4 going into the merge.
But after finding out Jeff V had one vote cast against him, became Kutcha's downfall and Okagor's gain.

  • This episode proved that this is a game and that you are not invincible out their.

This was one of my favorite episodes of all the survivor seasons. When Mike Skupin fell in the fire I almost cried! It was a terrible tradegy, but yet it was like it was meant to be. Then when everyone was helping him it felt really like they all got along great with eachother and unlike newer seasons they seemed to like eachother. It was really a turning point in the whole game. I truly believe if Mike didn't fall in the fire Kucha would have won and went all the way. It was really a dramatic thing that you didn't really think would happening in a survivor ever. The best part of the whole episode was the ending when they just ended with a prayer from the Kucha tribe. I thought it was very respectful to Mike. Even the Ogakor tribe felt sorry for who ever fell in the fire (because they didn't know yet) even though they knew that got lucky with that one.

Even though that was the main part of the episode it still had other great moments. Like the storm, Kucha corn, another Kucha win, but barely, Jerri getting drenched with water, and another Jerri and Keith fight(what a surprise).

Roger: We pray that you will be with him, and his family, and that you would bless them and give them strengh.moreless
