Sandra joins Tina Wesson as the only mothers to win "Survivor."
In the first immunity challenge, the final four contestants took on the five jury members (acting as a team) in a trivia question and answer contest. The jury won, thereby resulting in none of the four contestants gaining immunity. This is the first time in "Survivor" history that no contestant held immunity in a post-merge Tribal Council.
Burton is the first "Survivor" castaway to be voted out twice in one season. This scenario would not happen again until season 22, "Survivor: Redemption Island".
With Rupert's ouster, this marks the first time that five consecutive contestants of one gender (male in this case, Shawn, Osten, Andrew, Ryan O., and Rupert) have been eliminated at any time in one season.
In the season premiere, the survivors had only the clothes on their backs. However in this episode, Darrah is shown with a bathing suit that she wouldn't actually get for a couple more episodes at a reward. The shot was put in this episode despite having occurred later.
This is the first time in series history that a tribe that WINS the Immunity Challenge gets to attend Tribal Council. The Outcast tribe votes two players, Burton and Lil, back in the game. In a matter of speaking, one could say that a Survivor-record FOUR players were eliminated in this Tribal Council, as Nicole, Ryan S., Michelle, and Trish leave the game for good.
By helping to vote out Andrew, Lill became the first person in Survivor history to get revenge on someone who previously helped vote them out.
At Tribal Council, Burton gives his extra immunity (since he already has a week from the Outcasts win) to Rupert, one of the first times that immunity has been chosen for someone.
Burton wins the Immunity Challenge in this episode.
Burton and Lill of the Outcasts tribe are voted back into the game, the first time that this has ever happened on Survivor. They rejoin their old tribe, Drake and Morgan, respectively, granted with immunity for one week to allow themselves time to reintegrate into their tribes.
Lillian is the first Survivor whose torch didn't go out on the first try. Ironically, Lill is also one of the two chosen later to return to the game, thus re-lighting her torch.
