Episode Summary

EDIT

After witnessing the Redemption duel, Ozzy thinks it would be a smart move to purposely vote out a strong player in order to eliminate Christine. Ozzy approaches Cochran about his plan and suggests that he could be the one to go. On Upolu, Coach calls upon his religion to lift the tribe's spirits and find the idol as a group. When Coach returns to his tribe mates with tree mail and the idol, the entire tribe rejoices.

When Savaii lose the Immunity Challenge, Cochran felt confident in Ozzy's plan to send himself to Redemption Island, but when Ozzy voices his frustration at the loss, he begins to think otherwise. But the next morning, Ozzy interprets a dream he had and tells the tribe he is willing to be voted out afterall, but the others on the tribe don't agree with the plan.

  • What I don't understand...

    5.5
...is why these religious people are on this show. They are flaunting it like crazy people, and It just makes them look like lunatics, and in fact just plain stupid. And in a game of deceit??? Sigh...I thought religion came with morals...

  • After seeing Christine win her fifth consecutive Redemption Island duel, Ozzy and Cochrane discuss a plan in which Ozzy volunteers to go to Redemption Island if Savii loses the next challenge in order to eliminate Christine and improve Savii's chances.moreless

I am still trying to make up my mind as to what I think of "Trojan Horse". I am giving the episode a high score because I feel it is the best of the season so far. There is a lot to like about the episode. I do give a lot of credit to Ozzy for his plan to take on Christine. Even if he does lose the Redemption Island duel against her, I still respect him for his choice to sacrifice himself for the sake of the tribe. Do you think anybody else on Savaii would even think that? Me neither. Jeff Probst was at his best at Tribal Council. He has never been better in his conversation with Ozzy about Ozzy's choice to head to Redemption Island. What I also enjoyed about the episode was seeing Cochrane whining about how he does not want to go to Redemption Island. After he harshly criticized Ozzy for being "a baby" as he put it, it's nice to say "look who's talking" even if it is for a brief second. Good luck Ozzy.moreless
  • A move that could potentially turn out to be the dummest error ever made on Survivor if things don't work out. (Spoilers ah(ead!)

This is an episode of Survivor that is truly worth watching becaus e of an extraordinary piece of gameplay in which a contestant deliberately gets voted out in order to knock off a potential threat on Redemption Island and maintain the tribe's numbers.

Well, before we get to that, let's discuss the rest of the episode. I rather loved the Redemption Island duel! As I predicted last week, Mikayla proved to be a formidable challengre for Christine, but congrats to Christine for winning again! I was on Christine's side slightly, but I am very sad to see Mikayla go home; that's for sure!

As for Immunity, the challenge was great! It was very fun to watch and very nerve-wracking! I was thriled that upolu pulled off the victory and the reward was great!

Now to the Ozzy-move of voting himself out! The reason I think this was a bad idea is that I think Christine would have sided with Savaii after the merge. I just don't envisage somebody flipping the bird at someone else and then teaming up with them to win a million dollars.

I think it will be highly comical if Christine knocks out Ozzy at the Duel! I would love to see that! Moreso, if there is another challenge before the merge, Savaii could be further depleted and Ozzy might have to beat two or three more people just to re-enter the game.

    A lot to speculate about!

Well, a terrific and highly interesting episode! This is when South Pacific has finally gotten interesting! I cannot wait to see how things will eventuate, but one thing's for sure; I will be cheering for Christine!

Keep it up, Survivor, and I hope for many more terrific episodes like this one!moreless
  • Ozzy pulls a big move...I dunno though if that's smart.

    9.0
Good episode with a lot of fascinating moments...On one hand, I was pleased Upolu winning and Brandon staying one more day, and on the other by Ozzy's move...Ozzy should have asked around for the Savaii memebers and try to get an understanding of the relationship between Upolu and Christine...He wouldn't have done what he did...I don't think it's smart because I still remember Russell losing a challenge, which shows it's very risky...You can't master everything, no matter how good you are...I can understand Ozzy thinking of redeaming himself but still...I think there is a chance the merge may not be in the next episode...At the same time I think this season is a lot more balanced...Cochran has little chance to win, he may catch the merge due to idol using if Savaii loose but I don't see him with a big chance...moreless
