      • (regarding the environment created by the rapists on the loose)
Lt. Harrelson: Well, they could be anywhere from Bayside to Phillipsburg, from the desert to the ocean.
        Street: Yeah, nice and safe.
Lt. Harrelson: Yeah, planning their next rape. What really gets to me is that every woman in town is scared to death, double locking their doors and afraid to walk the dog to the corner.

      • Lt. Harrelson: Miss Windell, I'm sorry I had to question her (Laurie's sister Becky - the rape victim) like that.
Laurie Windell : Oh no, don't you apologize. You just did what you had to do. You did it well.
        Lt. Harrelson: Thank you.
Laurie Windell: I'm the one who has to apologize for yesterday (for striking him). Ah, I have very strong emotions.
Lt. Harrelson: And a great right cross.
        Laurie Windell: Yes, that too.
Lt. Harrelson: You know that thing about dragons and owls? I think that's form the Bible.
Laurie Windell: Yes, the Old Testament, Book of Job. I'm a brother to dragons, a companion to owls.
        Lt. Harrelson: I'm very impressed.

      • (after receiving helpful information from Records and Information (R&I))
        Lt. Harrelson: Bless computers!

      • Becky Windell: Thanks for saving Laurie
Lt. Harrelson: Well, we might not have, if you hadn't described the hideout to us.
Becky Windell: But I didn't. It wasn't at all like I said.
Lt. Harrelson: Well, you didn't see things quite the way they really were. Trauma does that. Sometimes trauma even distorts the way we see ourselves. Becky, you do have a choice. You can hang on tight to the bad experience you had and retreat from all the good things in life, or you can put it behind you and meet the present on its terms.
Becky Windell: What do you mean, on its terms?
Lt. Harrelson: The present is now. It might have some influence on what's to come, but no way can it change what's past.
Becky Windell: Do you think Scott put it behind him, what they did, what happened? Do you think he'll ever even want to look at me again, hold me, touch me?
Lt. Harrelson: How would I know? What don't you ask him? (calls Scott into the hospital room) Scott.
        (Scott and Becky hug)
