Sykes and a...

Show Summary

Sykes and a... is a comedy series that originally ran on BBC One in the United Kingdom from 1960 to 1965. It consists of 59 episodes with a length of about 30 minutes. Eric Sykes (Eric Sykes) and Hattie Sykes (Hattie Jacques) are twins who live in the Acton district of west London. Eric is a childish man who gets himself into difficult situations due to his inability to relate to the real world. Charles Brown (Richard Wattis) is a nosy neighbor of the Sykes twins and their primary antagonist in the first 17 episodes. The Sykes' mishaps also earn them frequent visits from village constable Wilfred Turnbull (Deryck Guyler). In the first episode, Eric and Hattie must learn how to use their new telephone. This series is produced by Dennis Main Wilson from 1960 to 1962 and Sydney Lotterby from 1963 to 1965. The lead writer for the series is Eric Sykes with additional writing by John Antrobus, Spike Milligan and Johnny Speight.
