Tabloid

Show Summary

Tabloid is considered one of Canada's earliest news shows. It had news reports, commentaries, interviews, weather reports, and reviews. News sources include BBC, Canadian Forces, Movietone, and United Press International. Since it was first broadcasted in 1953, Dick MacDougal hosted the show but when he died in 1958, he was replaced by Max Ferguson. Ferguson was the show's host till 1960 when it was renamed Seven-O-One. The TV program was produced by Ross McLean's who coined the catchphrase "Facts with Fun" that reflects the show's "infotainment" style.
