  • Clearly the writers have never experienced life in the military. What was portrayed in this episode was fanciful.

    5.0
The writers clearly have no idea about military life, military law, military training or military safety procedures. There is no way a member of training staff would have access to a rifle and live rounds in the way it was portrayed in this episode. Armories are used to store weapons, not a trainer's personal safe. I am amazed that the 'retired' major was able to get hold of service issue weapon after having been out for five years. Given the tight control over small arms that exists in the UK (very similar to AUS), it is most unlikely that he would possess such a weapon. As for the training methods used by the sergeant, well all I can say is that red caps would have been all over the place. At the very least, Military Police would have been present with civpol.

The only good thing about the episode was sitting back and looking for the errors. Bullying is not tolerated in the military and when caught, the bully will be removed from the Service. Training for the purpose of hardening up a member is one thing but to cause humiliation, fear and loathing is another. Get real.moreless
