  • A true tale of love and lust in the dust...

    8.9
Four-Sided Triangle was one of the better episodes that I have seen of Season Two which offered a number of great episodes in the series. Patricia Arquette was great as her role as the attractive enslaved Mary Jo held to the cruelties of obsessed George Yates and his unruly polio-stricken wife Louisa. A scarecrow seems to come to her aid, so she begins to act as if the scarecrow were her secret lover...a fact that disturbs Louisa and gives George ideas. So, just to do Mary Jo, he dresses as the scarecrow not knowing that his wife would barge in and stab the scarecrow several times to prove that he's nothing but straw. The ultimate twist was awesome and kudos to Arquette once again.moreless

    • [Opening wraparound segment with the Crypt Keeper dressed as a farmer and wearing a straw hat, playing 'She Loves me, She Loves Me Not'.]
The Crypt Keeper: She loves me. She loves me not. She loves me. She loves me not. Blah! What do flowers know about love, anyway? Well, hello there, boils and ghouls. Just getting in the mood for tonight's tawdry tale: a story of love and ludrid lust in the dust. [laughs] Sure to arouse the sickies amongst you to some heavy breathing. A tale I call "Four-Sided Triangle".

[Closing wraparound segment with the Crypt Keeper wearing the scarecrow's clown mask as seen in the story.]
The Crypt Keeper: That young lady certainly knew hot to make her point! But what a shame for poor George and Louisa. They thought they had all their labor problems all sewed up. But Mary Jo formed her own union with the scarecrow. [laughs] And just when George was going to reward Mary Jo for all her hard work with a big bonus. Now that is definately not what you call safe sex. Tune in next time, kiddies, for another terribly traumatic tale. [laughs]
