  • Jealousy and murder on the railroad.

The premise of a man killing his wife has been done many, many times. Some of those stories have been memorable, and others practically unwatchable. To make this premise work, there should be something unique about it, something that makes it stand out from the many, many other tales based on the same idea. And Two for the Show makes it work. David Paymer as the nervous and guilty husband, and Vincent Spano as the bloodhound from the police department complement each other in an episode that has small surprises every few minutes. A well constructed story with interesting characters, convincing performances and a killer ending add up to a very enjoyable tale.moreless
  • A woman wants to leave her husband. He kills her and locks her in a trunk. He just has to outsmart a police man who has been following him.

This is a well written good episode. I really like the twist ending. This is something that I never saw coming. A man murders his wife, after finding out she has been having an affair. A police man has a very strong interest in him, so he packs up his wife in a trunk, and heads on a train, who the same officer is now 0n. Feeling very guilty and scared he switches his trunk, and throws off his wife's body off the train. He thinks he gets away with it until... he finds something far worse in the other trunk.moreless

    • [Opening wraparound segment with the Crypt Keeper as a stand-up comedian.]
The Crypt Keeper: I tell ya, ladies and germs, that ghoulfriend of mine makes me so crazy. She told me she'd look good in something long and flowing. So I threw her in the Mississippi! [no response] Hmm...and how about that Ernest Hemmingway? Always shooting his mouth off! [still no response] Oohh...hello? Anybody? I know you're out there, folks, I can hear you bleeding! [still no response; taps mic] Is this on?! Hmm...I know what this crowd wants! A little slay on words! Maybe a couple of nasty fright gags?
      Man: Get a life!
The Crypt Keeper: Something along the lines of tonight's nasty nugget. It's a little tale about marriage, or if you prefer, about wife and death. I call it, "Two for the Show".

[Closing wraparound segment with the Crypt Keeper as a stand-up comedian.]
The Crypt Keeper: That Barney's my kind of guy! He comes up with the plan, but it's Andy who has to hatchet. [laughs] I guess it's true what they say: better dead than wed! [no response] Hmm...time for my finish. [throws a grenade at the audience; laughs] Now that's what I call bombing! Take my life, please! [laughs]
