  • Underrated

I love this one it was clever and disturbing and an example of found footage horror before its time!
  • An episode for the kids to enjoy! ...Or not.

A group of foul-mouthed adolescent boys stumble upon a scheme concocted by the local undertaker and pharmacist to drum up more business for the mortuary by killing locals with poisoned prescriptions. When one of the boys' father winds up a victim, it becomes personal and they risk their lives to bring the diabolical duo to justice.

Really, it's a plot that probably would have been more in place in a kids' horror anthology, with only the gratuitous gore and loads of curse words reminding you that you're watching an adult program and not some low-rent Goonies knock-off. The four boys even felt like the cast of the Goonies, only without the charm.

I'm not saying it's impossible to have an adult program focus on a child protagonist, it's just that the whole thing had a predictable, dumbed down, immature feeling that seemed to be catering more to adolescent boys the age of the main characters than the adult audience the rest of the show is targeted to. Not a bad episode, just not one of the better ones, either.
