  • Katie gets a strange call one night from a woman who is sobbing hysterically, and she is sure she recognizes the voice as that of someone in her family. It is not until ten years later that she finally realizes who made the mysterious call - and why.moreless

This is a decent episode based on a Stephen King short story. Deborah Harmon effectively portrays Katie's confusion and sense of dread about the strange call. The tension mounts as Katie and her husband Bill go to check on her sister, who Katie worries may have made the call. The scene in which Katie and Bill arrive at the sister's house is very suspenseful, as Bill mentions a recent string of murders in the area and there is evidence of a break-in at the sister's house. Ultimately, Katie determines that all her family members are safe but still has a lingering feeling that something is not right. The resolution does not quite live up to the taut storytelling that is developed throughout the episode, but this is still a worthwhile addition to the Tales from the Darkside canon.moreless
  • A woman recieves a call warning her that her husband needs to go to the hospital. The voice sounds familiar, but she can't quite remember where she has heard that voice beforemoreless

This has to be one of the weirdest episodes I have seen, it is just about as weird as the movie the Lake House. She tries to call her past self? What kind of things is that? It's not a magic phone, but she is able to call and talk to her past self. It is just a weird episode, but it is acted very well. You feel sad when the sad things start to happen. Overall, I would have expected more from a story written by Stephen King. There just isn't enough explanation, because there is none. Just a shame, but still an interesting episode, I guess.moreless
