  • I thought this was an average episode of a series that I watched avidly as a teenager. Interesting concept let down by a fairly predictable ending.

    6.0
I have fond memories of this episode - even though I felt it rated only average in comparison to the rest of the series - because I was actually in it! Filmed on Saunton Sands beach in North Devon, I was recruited as an 'extra'. This was due to the fact that the weather had been so bad that the contracts of some of the minor actors had expired! It was interesting to meet Stuart Whitman, whom I had seen in 'Sands of the Kalahari' though I felt his talent was a little wasted on an episode such as this. The weather did actually improve after filming started in earnest, though this didn't prevent the crew losing a range Rover to the incoming tide one day. Myself and another lad on holiday helped the turtle out of the sea for the 'auction' scene. For those of you who are wondering, there was actually a guy inside the turtle - very cramped!moreless
