  • Hoo, boy.

There are SO many things I couldn't stand about this movie. Now, let's get something straight, here; I KNOW that this was based off of the television series 'Tales of The Wizard of I have the same opinion about the series, too. Where to start, where to start. Well, I guess we should start with the fact that in under seven minutes you hear THREE SONGS. There are just WAY too many songs! Then, I don't know whether this is derived from the movie or the book, though it seems like its just sort of 'Screw You' about it. Dorothy HAS the slippers, like in the movie, but they're silver, like in the book. And her friends have trinkets as gifts from Oz instead of actual brains, or bottled courage, like the movie. And apparently the animators were too lazy to draw ACTUAL munchkins, and instead drew colored raindrops. They try to convince you that these are legit munchkins by singing about how they are legit munchkins. Going to the Wizard himself (Who is SUPPOSED to have gone away in a balloon in both the movie AND the book), first, he has a nervous tic that makes him repeat the last word of each sentence he says. Second, he deliberately made sure that Dorothy and her friends found out that he was sneaking off by playing a gramophone with his recorded voice. The record appears to skip, but after the third 'gonna do,' you can tell that he's just saying the phrase over and over again from the fact that his pitch and tone changes each time. In the end, I decided to give it a rating of 4.5. It probably would have at least a 5, except that the moral chops off at least a half. Same moral as the movie and the book, what you wanted has always been with you and stuff. That's my review, I'm out!moreless
