No. I'm not big on the animated Disney version of the Jungle Book (tho I do like their live-action one with Jason Lee). Give me the Chuck Jones version of The Jungle Book any day of the week.

No, it's not the same Jason Lee from My Name Is Earl. His full name is Jason Lee Scott his most notable role was play Bruce Lee in Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story, he also did the voice of David Kawena in Lilo & Stitch. I have never seen this movie so I can't tell you.

IMHO, the live-action Jungle Book is better then the animated one, largely because the plot wasn't so rambling (despite being just as different from the source material as the cartoon). It didn't have any singing in it either. You should see it - who knows, you might like it.

Now, I didn't care for the Disney cartoon because, as a fan of the original story, it bastardized a lot of book characters' wonderful personalities (I can deal with this in Tailspin, because to me Tailspin is an alternate and entirely seperate world from Kipling's work), the ending's a cop-out, and the script seems lazy and haphazard. It also spread the irritating fallacy that Shere Kahn was this total bad***, when in Kipling's story he was a cripple tiger who couldn't hunt normal prey and started hunting humans.

I haven't seen the Chuck Jones cartoon in ages, but I do know it was much closer to the book. You can find it, along with The White Seal and Rikki Tikki Tavi (two other Kipling stories Jones animated - and RTT OWNS), on Amazon.
