    • TRIVIA (2)

      • Goof: Dan describes the Sapphire Elephant as being six inches high. When Tarzan and Roger arrive at the temple and approach the Elephant, it's more than twice that size (and obviously made of clear plastic.)

      • Goof: Apparently, Dan can't decide what branch of the military he belonged to. In this episode, he tells Roger, "I know you've heard me gripe about the Army." But in Tarzan and the Deadly Cargo, he says, "When I was Roger's age, I'd already been in the Navy for a year."

    • QUOTES (3)

      • Jane Rog! What on earth are you doing here?

Roger: Hey, would you believe? They finally put traffic lights up in Bandali.

Jane: Never mind traffic lights! What are you doing here?

Roger: Oh, you know...I got there, I saw all these goofy guys with, like, really bad haircuts, people shouting and yelling, I don't know, uniforms didn't do anything for me, so I said, what the heck? I just got out of there.

Jane: Rog...you deserted? The commissioner's going to kill you!

        Roger: Well, maybe, maybe not.

        [comes inside]

Roger: I got rejected. Flat feet, can you believe it?

        Jane: [laughing] Flat feet!

Roger: Hey, I knew they were a little bit smelly, but I didn't know they were deformed!

      • Tarzan: In Tarzan's jungle, it is more important to protect the living than to protect memories.

      • [watching Tarzan and Jane embrace]
Roger: Well, isn't this cute? I'm gone two days, and already they're making the moves.

    • ALLUSIONS (1)

      • Roger: [getting ready to take the elephant] Hang on. I saw this in a movie once.

The movie Roger's referring to is Raiders of the Lost Ark, starring Harrison Ford. Indiana Jones is able to take the treasure off the pedastal without triggering the temple's booby-traps by quickly substituting an object of equal weight for the treasure. Roger and Tarzan do the same thing, leaving Tarzan's knife in place of the Sapphire Elephant.
