Since Cyborg developed an appetite for non-food items, it could be correct to say that the computer virus caused him to develop pica.
The virus had Cyborg hallucinating food that he loved, one food that has been well established that Cyborg loves in the series are eggs. However, in this episode it seems that Cyborg seems to hate eggs actually.
In the episode "Overdrive," it shows that Starfire is stronger than Cyborg. Why couldn't Starfire's alien strength, Robin's strength, and Raven's telekinesis pull Cyborg from the main communication?
Raven's hair becomes a lighter purple twice in this episode.
How was a computer virus, something that exists online, able to smash a physical weapon such as Gizmo's gun? How was it even able to touch and fire lasers at Beast Boy?
Cyborg claims that half his brain was cybernetic in "Deception," but in this episode, his brain appears to be all cybernetic.
In the episodes, "Apprentice (1)" & "Apprentice (2)," Slade has a screen that shows all of the Titans' blood streams. Cyborg's blood stream looks like all of the others (red and what not), with the blood cells flowing through, as well. When Beast Boy and Gizmo enter Cyborg's blood stream, it all looks cybernetic and such, and there aren't very many blood cells (if any) flowing through his blood stream.
When Gizmo puts the machine that would shut down Cyborg "for good," in a far shot, the machine is slightly smaller than what Gizmo put it on. And in a close-up shot, the machine fits perfectly on what Gizmo put it on.
When Cyborg eats the Mumbo clock and the other stuff in the market place area, the blue, technologic part of his neck is gone for that shot.
While inside Cyborg, Gizmo and Beast Boy encounter what Gizmo identifies as white blood cells. However, they have the distinct disc shape of red blood cells.
How could Beast Boy talk when he was an amoeba? Amoebas don't have vocal cords.
When Robin shoots Gizmo into Cyborg, look closely, Cyborg's red eye is normal for a split-second.
Cyborg: Hey, who wants to go out for whoppers? Whoppers! Whoppers! Whoppers! Whoppers! Whoppers!
Starfire: I know, he is an evil villain...
(Cyborg has a weird look in his eyes)
Starfire: ... who speaks the mean words and is not our friend, but still I wonder, what became of Gizmo?
(goes to blob of snot)
Gizmo: (in background) Razzle Frazzle Titans! (comes on screen being chased by drones) CRRRRRRUUUUUUUUUDDDDDDD!
Beast Boy: This cell may stink at math, but I can still multiply.
Gizmo: (Examining Cyborg) Ewwwwww! Your friend is thrashed. What kind of sludge-sniffing idiot gets himself infected with the Endzone Virus?
(Titans glare at Beast Boy, who shrinks to a small size)
Beast Boy: He had some help.
Cyborg: Hey, did y'all know there are 456 varieties of yams? I like yams! Yams, yams, yams, yams, yams, yams, yams....
Robin: What is going on?
Cyborg: Oh, I'll tell you what's going on. This is the best peanut brittle I've ever tasted! (Cyborg starts licking the sofa, as Raven & Starfire exchange puzzled looks)
Cyborg: (Sees Robin as a steak) We need gravy! AND PLENTY OF IT!
Robin: Take it easy, Cyborg. It's us.
Raven: We're here to take you home.
Starfire: You remember who we are, yes?
(Cyborg sees the Titans as eggs)
Cyborg: You're the nasty egg people who stole all my waffles!
Cyborg: Whatever got into me, it's out.
Robin: Beast Boy! He did it!
Cyborg: (Notices a green stain on his arm) Aww, man! That better not be who I think it is!
Cyborg: Oh! Star! Remember that purple, wiggly Tamaranian pie thingie you made that was full of bugs?
Starfire: My stewed Grunthmek which made you physically sick?
Cyborg: You gotta cook up some of that!
Gizmo: No stinkin' way! I'm not fixing that overgrown bucket of robo-scrunge, and there's not a thing that you grot-sniffers could ever say or do that'll make me... (Gizmo tries to leave, but Raven appears in front of him, and takes off her hood, revealing an evil looking monster face from Gizmo's viewpoint; Gizmo turns back, looking very shaken) I'll help...
Beast Boy: (After Gizmo has attacked the virus) Yeah! We kicked its virus butt!
Gizmo: Wake up, pinhead! That was only a drone. There could be thousands of drones. We have to delete the viral core.
Beast Boy: (Thinks fast) Uh, I knew that. I was just, uh, testing you! And you passed!
Cyborg: (Wakes up) PIE! (Robin drops the tranquillizer gun containing microscopic-sized Gizmo, then looks and sees Starfire and Raven trying to restrain Cyborg; Robin shoots at Cyborg with the tranquillizer gun and scores a direct hit) HOT LINKS!! Oh, yeah.... (Crashes through a wall)
Starfire: The injection was sucessful?
Robin: I think so. (On the communicator) Gizmo, report. Are you inside Cyborg?
Gizmo: Oh, I'm inside him all right. But I'm not in his brain - I'm in his butt.
Cyborg: (After eating dozens of money notes, then spitting them out) NO, NOT MACARONI!
Cyborg: (Munching on a table) Who ordered this pizza? It's cheese-tastic!
Cyborg: (To a portable money machine) You can keep your sprinkles, I NEED RASPBERRY FILLINGS!
Gizmo: What the.... blob boy?
Beast Boy: I'm here to help.
Gizmo: Oh, lucky stinkin' me, a goof-bag with a nucleus for a brain.
Starfire: Why does he speak of subterranean vegetables?
Gizmo: (Sneers) You don't know crud. The virus is messing with his central processor, you know, his brain.
Gizmo: (To Robin, angrily) Nice shootin', sporfbrain! You kludgeheads have any idea how long it's gonna take me to get from this tin can's can all the way UP TO HIS BRAIN?!
Robin: We need to stop him before he hurts himself... or somebody else.
Raven: Or an innocent street sign...
(Cyborg devours a poor, defenseless street sign)
Beast Boy: I may not be smart enough to do everything, but I'm dumb enough to try ANYTHING!
Cyborg: OOOH!! You know what would be good? Let's all go out for WAFFLES! RAVEN!! You like WAFFLES, DON'TCHA?
Raven: (Dryly) More than life itself.
Cyborg: (After recovering) Ooh, my stomach! I feel like I ate a tire!
Raven: That's a distinct possibility.
Beast Boy: Cyborg! What are you doing here?
Cyborg: It's my room... what are you doing here?
Beast Boy: (Short pause) Just practicing my nose whistling... (Whistles)
This is the first time the Titans asked help from a villain in the series.
The first time Raven manifested her Soul-Self was in "Nevermore"; she manifested it as a demonic version of herself whilst enraged, using it to terrify Doctor Light. The second time occurred at the end of the episode "Fear Itself"; it appears when Raven acknowledges her fear and her subconsciously-created monsters are dispelled. Here, she uses it deliberately to intimidate Gizmo into helping repair Cyborg.
This marks the third time in the series Raven manifests her "Soul-Self" (though it is never named as such), as well as the first time she does so voluntarily.
This the first time we see Raven use her powers without wearing her hood.
Opener: After getting an advanced copy of Mega Monkies 4, Beast Boy tries to play it on Cyborg's super computer. Which turns out to be his system recharger, and infects Cyborg with a virus when he tries to recharge.
Villain(s): Endzone Virus & Gizmo (partially Gizmo).
This episode marks the first time CGI Computer Animation is used in this show. It is used on the red blood cells in Cyborg's body.
YTV airdate: November 24, 2004.
Look Hard: While at the flea market, Cyborg eats (among other things) a Mumbo bobble head doll.
Opening theme song is sung in Japanese for the first time this season.
Beast Boy & Cyborg episode.
An unwritten rule of the series is that Beast Boy does not speak while in animal form. This episode is the first [and only] time that rule is broken.
The scene where Cyborg says: "I like yams! Yams, yams, yams, yams, yams, yams, yams..." is a spoof on the famous Monthy Python sketch: The Spam.
If you notice, Raven clearly pulls a Beetlejuice move when she convinces Gizmo to help out with destroying the virus that Beast Boy put in Cyborg.
The virus that invades Cyborg does resemble Keramon (with it's wavy antennae, manic eyes, general body shape, and coloring effects used) from Digimon: The Movie's second segment (Our War Game in Japan). The scene in the end where Beast Boy and Gizmo are in Cyborg's brain surrounded by thousands of copies of the virus mimics the scene where WarGreymon and MetalGarurumon are in the Internet, surrounded by thousands upon thousands of Diaboromons.
Robin: (Throws net at Cyborg, but wraps around parking meter instead)
When Robin throws the net at Cyborg and it gets wrapped around the parking meter, for a moment, it resembles the sticks with the spider webbing on them that Fiona gives to Shrek.
Episode Plot: Inspiration
Fantastic Voyage was a 1966 sci-fi movie in which a team of doctors travel inside a patient in microscopic form to destroy a lethal tumor. Several television show episodes, cartoon episodes, and other movies have been inspired by this cult classic, this episode of Teen Titans merely being the latest.
Cyborg's comments on waffles sound extremely close to Donkey's in Shrek.
