  • Trivia

  • Quotes

    • General Immortus: "Strike when your enemy is at his weakest, when he is mired in self-doubt, and your victory will be assured." Sun-Tzu was always one of my favorite students.

    • Mento: Don't you realize what's at stake here? The quantum generator isn't just a threat, Beast Boy, it's a promise. The Brain will use it. The Doom Patrol needs you.
Beast Boy: What Doom Patrol? You're the only one left! They're all gone!

    • Mento: Doom Patrol, listen up. Every second we delay gives the Brotherhood of Evil a chance to use their new weapon. It's time to move out.
      Beast Boy: Already?
Elastigirl: There's no time to rest, Beast Boy. We'll be fine.
Beast Boy: You don't look fine.

    • Cyborg: What about air defenses? We fly anywhere near that base, and they're going to start blasting.
Mento: Which is exactly why we're going on foot, and when I say "we," I mean the Doom Patrol -- all of us.
Robin: If Beast Boy goes, then so do we.
Negative Man: I really wouldn't go there. Trust me.
Robotman: You kids have no idea what we're up against.
Cyborg: Well, from the looks of things, you need all the help you can get.

    • Starfire: Robin, we must do something. We cannot just leave.
Robin: That's the last thing we're going to do, Starfire.

    • Beast Boy: Hey, tin man! Shift it into gear. You're falling behind.
Robotman: Very funny, green bean. Maybe if you weighed 900 pounds -- (Starts falling into quicksand)
      Beast Boy: Robotman!
Negative Man: Quicksand. Come on, Cliff, watch where you're going.

    • Mento: What's the holdup?
Robotman: It's nothing, Mento. We're right behind you.
Beast Boy: Nothing? We just got our butts kicked by a bunch of mud. Maybe we should call the Titans.
Mento: I said no. Now, hurry up. We have a lot of ground to cover.
      Beast Boy: Yes, sir.

    • Robotman: Blasters? You're gonna have to do better than that, Brain. (Attempts to attack a sentry robot, but fails) Magnetic field, huh? All right. That's pretty good.

    • Beast Boy: Guess the Brain never planned on a T-Rex two-step.
Negative Man: Next time he will.

    • Negative Man: Oh, great. Magnetic mines. I hate these things.

    • Beast Boy: You broke my communicator. How do you expect me to reach the Titans?
      Mento: I don't. Now, let's go.
      Beast Boy: No.
Mento: What? Beast Boy, we don't have time for games.
Beast Boy: I said I'm not going. I'm not a kid anymore, and I'm not wearing your stupid mask.

    • Beast Boy: What's wrong?
Mento: The Brain must have activated some kind of psychic shielding. I don't know which way to go.
Beast Boy: This always works for me: eenie, meenie, miney, mo.

    • Madame Rouge: Perhaps my mind is too hard to read.
Mento: No, it's just too twisted.

    • Mento: Beast Boy, you reset the coordinates to this location.
Beast Boy: Uh, yeah. And unless you want to see the inside of a black hole, better get out of here.
      Robotman: Kid's got a point.

    • Beast Boy: I have an idea! (Changes the coordinates of the Quantum Generator)
Brain: You fool. What have you done?
Beast Boy: You're not the only one with a brain! (Slaps The Brain from behind, knocking him over)

    • Robin: Titans!
      Mento: Doom Patrol!
      Robin: Go!!
Mento: (At the same time as Robin) Attack!!

    • Mento: "No matter what it takes" -- that was the oath the Doom Patrol swore, Beast Boy. I can't ask your friends to do the same.
Beast Boy: We're not coming back, are we?

    • Raven: (Watching Titans and Doom Patrol argue, to Negative Man) All of this arguing is pointless. Why don't you just let him make up his own mind? Come on, you're giving me a headache.

    • Cyborg: (About the Brain) He's targeting the tower.
Raven: Not just the tower. He's targeting the entire city.
Mento: Now you see why I have such a problem with this guy.

    • Robin: I should have warned you. We're not so great at doing what we're told.
Mento: I'll let it slide. Let's do this.

    • Cyborg: (After watching the Doom Patrol take off) ... "Garfield"?
      Beast Boy: (Blushing) Hehehe....
Raven: (Grinning) Oh, I'm gonna get a lot of mileage out of this one.

    • Monsieur Mallah: You may be just as strong, but my intelligence far exceeds yours.
Beast Boy: (Slams Mallah through the wall) You look pretty stupid to me.

  • Notes

    • At the end of the episode it is revealed that Beast Boy's name is "Garfield", whereas in The New Teen Titans he is referred to as "Logan". This is beacuse his full name is "Garfield Mark Logan."

    • Billy Numerous appears in the villain line up, at the end of the episode, five times.

    • Madame Rouge's real name is Laura De Mille and she is a French citizen, though she speaks with a Russian accent.

    • Elasti-Girl (Rita Farr) is married to teammate Mento (Steve Dayton).

    • Despite the fact that the producers said the Titan's true identities would not be a part of the show, since the Doom Patrol did call each other by their given names, Beast Boy's true name was revealed, since he was once a part of that team. This makes him the only member of the Titans to have his real name presented, aside from Raven, who's real name is Raven.

    • While her appearance was only referred to through a cameo, Wonder Girl didn't appear due to legal issues. She would make her first full appearance in Teen Titans Go #36 which implies that she's worked with the Titans before. The issue also teams her up with Robin, Aqualad, Speedy and Kid Flash.

    • According to the Brain's map, Titans Tower is in California.

    • YTV airdate: March 20, 2006.

    • At the end of the episode, all the Titans villains are united along with the Brotherhood of Evil, with the exception of the previous "big bad" Villains: Slade, Terra, Brother Blood, and Trigon.

Comic-book villains making their debut here include:

      Ding Dong Daddy

    • The quantum generator is destroyed in this episode when Beast Boy redirects the target of the dark hole to the hideout.

    • The main powers of the four main Brotherhood of Evil members are:

      The Brain - Telekinesis
Madame Rouge - Elasticity and the power to morph into other people (she uses this power in "Trust.")
General Immortus - Immortality and expert military skills
Monsieur Mallah - Super strength and intelligence

    • Based on what Mento said about the Brain's psychic shield, it is apparent that both of them have mental powers.

    • There is one shot of the television screens at the end that shows five screens. Robin, Speedy, Aqualad, Kid Flash, and Wondergirl (presumably). Hopefully this is foreshadowing to a later episode of Teen Titans in which the original five from the comics get a team-up episode of their own.

    • At the episode's end, Elastigirl refers to Beast Boy by his first name of Garfield, implying that contrary to what we're told, the Titans do have secret identities.

    • Even though Atlas makes a cameo appearance in this episode, it is still his second of the series.

    • When Beast Boy says, "This always works for me: eenie, meenie, miney, mo," it is a reference to "The Prophecy," where Robin tells Beast Boy to pick a path. He used "eenie, meenie, miney, mo" to decide.

    • Villain(s): The Brain, Monsieur Mallah, General Immortus, & Madame Rouge (Brotherhood of Evil).

    • Although we don't know what happened to her in the first place, we now know that the former HIVE Academy Headmistress is working for the Brotherhood of Evil.

    • In "X," Robin asks "if one good deed makes him (Red X) a hero." Well, now we see him with the Brotherhood of Evil.

    • The members of the Doom Patrol are a lot like the Titans. Mento, like Robin, is the leader and can get a bit obsessive with finding and defeating his enemy.
Robotman, like Cyborg, is part Human part Robot and is the muscle behind the team. Elastigirl, like Starfire, is nice, caring, and sweet, but is strong and shouldn't be underestimated. Negative Man, like Raven, has dark, and somewhat, eerie powers. Beast Boy is a shapshifter, but is a member of both teams.

    • Punk Rocket makes his first appearance in a regular episode of Teen Titans. He previously appeared in the online "Lost Episode" hosted by Postopia.

    • The new members of the Brotherhood of Evil shown at the end of the episode include: Warp, Phobia, Overload, Plasmus, Cinderblock, Killer Moth, Kitten, Fang, Mammoth, Jinx, Gizmo, Psimon, Dr. Light, Control Freak, Wintergreen (Slade's butler), Red X, Trident, Kardiak, Atlas, Andre LeBlanc, Adonis, Master of Games, Ding Dong Daddy, Puppet King, Bob and The Source, Billy Numerous (and his clones), Malchior (in paper form), Johnny Rancid, Professor Chang, Punk Rocket, Katarou, See-More, Mother Mae-Eye, Steamroller, the former HIVE Academy Headmistress, Mumbo, the Witch from "Cyborg the Barbarian," Cheshire, and a bunch of students from the HIVE Academy.

    • Look Hard: At the beginning, you see Robin and you cannot see his "R" emblem.

    • Nearly every enemy of the Titans appears at the end of this episode. The only exceptions are Slade, Trigon, Blackfire, and Brother Blood -- the main villains of the past 4 seasons.

    • Madame Rouge makes her first appearance in this episode.

    • Beast Boy episode.

    • Look Hard: At the end, you can see Aqualad, Tramm, Mas Y Menos, Hotspot, Kid Flash, Wonder Girl, Red Star, Bushido, Argent, Jericho, Bumblebee, Speedy, Wildebeest, Thunder, Lightning, Pantha, Killowat, and Herald outside of the Teen Titans and the Doom Patrol on the TV screens in the Brotherhood of Evil's headquarters.

    • It's revealed for the first time that, as in the comics, Beast Boy's first name is "Garfield."

  • Allusions

    • Nazi
General Immortus' uniform resembles that of a Nazi officer, implying that he may have been a member of the Nazi Party; which was a group of people led by Adolf Hitler who stressed the racial purity of the German people and persecuted those it perceived either as race enemies or life unworthy of life.

    • Sun-Tzu
When General Immortus says that: "Sun-Tzu was one of my best students", he is referring to the Chinese philosopher/general who wrote The Art of War; which is a Chinese military treatise written during the 6th Century B.C.

    • The Brotherhood of...Doom?
The new season of Titans starts on the exact same note that the new season of Justice League Unlimited did a few weeks earlier. In both, a super-genius "brainy" guy and a super-smart talking gorilla pull together every villain in their setting, old and new, to form a secret society dedicated to taking out all the heroes.
