Episode Summary

After April reports live, from the Malicurian Embassy, of the Malicurian Emporer's decision to sell mining rights to the vast deposit of Lydiam 90 that was recently discovered in his country, she prepares herself for the big party that is being held at the Embassy later that night. Irma, however, persuades her to trade in her news journalist "uniform" for a fancy party gown so that she might attract an eligible bachelor. Meanwhile, far below the Earth's surface, Shredder complains to Krang that the Technodrome is falling apart and that they need more power to properly maintain life support systems. Krang suggests that a small piece of Lydium 90 would supply more than enough power to bring the Technodrome back up to speed.

    Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

    • TRIVIA (6)

      • One of the guests in the background at the Costume Ball is dressed as a Ninja Turtle.

      • This is another one of the few episodes we see the turtles without their bandanas on.

      • This is the first time in the series that April is dressed in something else other than here usual yellow outfit (although the dress she wears is yellow).

      • In one part where April is carried off by Shredder, Bebop and Rocksteady, her accent is posh, like Princess Mallory

      • The Technodrome is now back in it's original spot, in the Earth's core, after it crashed to another part of the Earth's crust, when it was temporarily mobile in "The Fifth Turtle"

      • In Enter: The Fly Krang tells Baxter Stockman that he too is a scientist. If that's the case then wouldn't Krang have known the Lydiam 90 wouldn't be able to withstand the heat of the Earth's core?

    • QUOTES (8)

      • (Shredder arrives at the Technodrome with the Lydium-90/)
        Shredder: Here, Krang, the Lydium-90!
Krang: Give it here! Give me! Give me! Give me!
(Krang takes the case just as the Lydium-90 starts to glow.)
Krang: What? What's going on here?
Shredder: I don't know, but I'm not waiting to find out!
(Shredder, Bebop, and Rocksteady take cover just as the Lydium-90 explodes/)
Krang: (coughing) Shredder, you idiot! I could've been blown to bits!
        Shredder: So sue me.

      • Michaelangelo: Alright, I smell pizza! that way!
Raphael: Pizza at an embassy party?
Michaelangelo: Hey bub, you can be a head honcho and still have good taste, you know.

      • Shredder: Faster, you cretins--we must get the princess back to the Technodrome.
Rocksteady: Oh, oh you mean before she turns into a pumpkin.
Bebop: That was a different princess, you bimbo.
Rocksteady: All those princesses look alike to me.

      • Malicurian Emperor: By the way, congratulations: your turtle costumes won first prize.
Donatello: Yeah, I guess they are kind of original.
Malicurian Emperor: Oh no, not for originality, for ridiculousness.

      • Shredder: Oh no! it's those wretched amphibians again!
Rocksteady: Now can we blast 'em boss?
Shredder: Blast away, my moronic mutants!

      • Splinter: A wise person embraces as many new experiences as possible.
Leonardo: Master Splinter, perhaps you would like to try some pizza? It's marshmallow and pepperoni.
Splinter: Err.. the wise person also realises that some experiences are less embraceable than others.

      • Shredder: If it's that valuable, it will be heavily guarded. How will we get it?
Krang: I'll think of something. I always do.

      • Shredder: I'm going to make the best of a bad situation.
April: Shredder, everywhere you go is a bad situation.
