The Turtles throw April a surprise party to celebrate her first anniversary as a reporter at Channel Six News, but April is not feeling very celebratory -- it seems that Burne Thompson has suggested that she will not be celebrating her second anniversary if she does not find a story soon. Donatello and Irma rush out to get a special pizza in an effort to lift her spirits.
Meanwhile, Krang and Shredder send Rocksteady and Bebop up to the Earth's surface to locate "a new source of energy generated by the Nuclean Fission Reactor at the University." But the mutants think that Shredder is sending them "fishing" and when they finally learn their mistake, a bright ray of light, coming from out of the sky, zaps Rocksteady and he disappears.

When Bebop says "Hey, no fair running away" his rifle looked like one of the alien weapons Shredder and Rocksteady stole even though the aliens had already taken them back.
When Irma and Donatello pass the movies the same movie is still playing from "Beneath These Streets."
The Turtles' weapons are seldom seen on their belts in this episode.
Donatello has Michaelangelo's nunchucks on his belt when Rocksteady backs away from him
Donatello: Irma, I need you.
Irma: Oh...
Donatello: Easy, Irma. It's only to help me pick up a pizza.
(April runs to Nikto's toy)
Leonardo: What's she doing?
Raphael: Oh, with women you never know.
Michaelangelo: (to Leonardo) Hey, dude, what goes quack, quack?
Leonardo: A duck?
Michaelangelo: Exactamundo!!
(They duck, and two foot soldiers tackle each other.)
Shredder: I give you two imbeciles a simple assignment, and you can't even carry it out!
Bebop: But boss, somethin' awful happened.
Krang: What, you lost Rocksteady?
Bebop: Uh yeah, dat also.
Shredder: "That also"?! What else went wrong!!?
Bebop: We didn't catch a single fish.
(Shredder groans loudly.)
Shredder: Well, did you find it?
Rocksteady: No, boss. We've been fishin' here for three hours, and we ain't had a nibble!
Shredder: Fishing? I sent you out for fission, not fishing!
Shredder: This will locate the energy source. Now go!
Rocksteady: Right away, boss. Um, where we goin' to?
Shredder: To the fission plant! THE FISSION PLANT!
(Scene changes to show Bebop and Rocksteady fishing.)
Rocksteady: Y'know, this fishin's the easiest job we ever had.
Bebop: Heh heh, this glue factory sure makes a neat hideout, boss.
Shredder: Fail me, and I'll be making glue out of both of you!
Episode included on the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Volume 4 DVD.
The three alien names.. Klaatu, Barada, & Nikto .. sounds like the three words from The Day The Earth Stood Still and also later in the movie Army Of Darkness!
This episode was available on one of four free TMNT videotapes given with Burger King Kids' Meals.
Donatello asks for the names of the aliens, the one he meets is named Klaatu and is introduced to Klaatu's wife, Barada, and is told about Nikto. The name are from the phase said by Helen Benson to Gort in the 1951 film The Day the Earth Stood Still Earth.
The title Invasion of the Turtle Snatchers is a reference to the 1956 movie Invasion of the Body Snatchers.
