  • Not very original...

I love watching the teenage mutant ninja turtles, but this episode seemed like it crossed bounds into the copyrighted world. I have to say that the writers of this show did a decent job of turning robocop into a cartoon. I think Rex-1 was a decent character, and the storyline wasn't too bad. This episode had some action, but nothing to brag about. I'm a little dissapointed that this show took ideas from a movie. I'm not even assuming this idea, it's petty clear that they got plenty of ideas of this episode from the robocop series. Teenage mutant ninja turtles is a very original cartoon, which is why I would believe they dont have too much experience with copyrighting, but for further reference, at least switch the occupation of the cop. Perhaps if Rex-1 wasn't a cop, this episode would of been viewed as a more original show.moreless
  • "My job is to serve and protect you..." and watch as many Ninja Turtles as possible.

When you fuse Robocop with Ninja Turtles, you get... DING DING DING! "New York's Shiniest! Rex-1 is a very funny android, who follows April home, and doesn't make a good first impression with the Turtles. But who does? So Shredder wants to make clones of the robot cops, and makes hundreds of them. The Turtles and Rex-1 work together to stop the clones.
  • Pretty good. Not bad, not bad at all.

Yes, I enjoyed this episode. No, it wasn't my favorite. I did like the Rex-1 character that made his debut in this episode, and I hope to see him in more future episodes, if any. The turtles are also good in this episode. I liked the idea that Shredder made Rex-1 clones of his own, and there was a huge difference in numbers between the good and the bad sides. This is another great episode in this series.moreless

Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

  • TRIVIA (3)

    • The Turtles were able to scale the Channel 6 building without using any climbing equipment (like their wall climbing suction cups or grappling hooks).

    • Shortly after the turtles drive their van into the "East River," a second Turtle Van, with April and Splinter in it, appears just before the robot enforcers stop them.

    • The letters on the Turtles' belts are white instead of grey.

  • QUOTES (12)

    • Rex-1 Clones: You are most wanted criminals!
Raphael: And I always thought it'd be nice to be wanted!

    • Shredder: Will you two imbecilic buffoons stop pestering me? This is delicate work!
Rocksteady: He called us "imbecilic buffoons"!
Bepop: Yeah, and you thought he didn't like us!

    • (Donatello grabs Channel 6 news camera.)
Donatello:Oh, wow, is this ever cool! Hey, guys, do something.
Raphael: (sticks tongue out) How's this?
Michaelangelo: (Dancing) Look at me, Ma! I'm dancing! I'm dancing!

    • Donatello: So, what do you think, guys? You think I can make it as a baton twirler?
(Rex-1 catches Donatello's bo, and crushes it.)
Donatello: Hey fella, that was my best bo.
(Rex-1 picks up Donatello by his shoulder.)
Rex-1: Being a seven-foot robot means never having to say "you're sorry."

    • April: Nice to meet you, Rex-1; I'm April. (April picks up camera) Now say 'cheese'!
      Rex-1: Cheese does not compute.

    • April: The security guards!
      Rex-1: Are you in danger?
April: Just stay still, and hold your tongue.
(Rex-1 sticks tounge out and grabs it.)
Rex-1: Oh, well, whatever you say.

    • (After being robbed)
April: Oh, the nerve of those creeps! They wouldn't get away with this if the turtles were here
Irma: Most people would want the boys in blue; she wants the boys in green.

    • (when Shredder is about to press some buttons)
Bebop and Rocksteady: Oooh ohh can I press some buttons. (while jumping up and down)

    • Raphael: Who are they?
Leonardo: They look like cousins of Rex-1.
Donatello: I wish they were distant cousins.

    • (All four Turtles swim up to the water's surface)
Leonardo: All right! Luckily those robots didn't realize we're amphibians.
Donatello: Sure, water is our natural habitat.
Michaelangelo: Yeah, it's also the stuff we live in.

    • Rex-1: You are charged with disturbing the peace...
Police Officer #1: Put us down, you hunk of tin!
      Rex-1: ...resisting arrest...
Police Officer #2: You ain't never gettin' away with this!
      Rex-1: ... and using a double negative!

    • Rex-1: My name is Rex-1. My job is to serve and protect you.
