  • great way to end first season

great way to rap up the season finale and it rapts up karng wanting a body and the turtles wanting to cure splinter. Krang gets his body and wrecks havoc on teh city. the turtles fight it. I loved shredder\'s its alive its alive when the robot comes to life. the fight between bebop and rocksteady was decent, but it does not show them return ot the technodrome. I loved how Krang\'s troops nearly came through. Splinter seemingly lost his chance to become human as he did it to save the turtles, but later in the series he is fine with being a rat. The technodrome gets sucked through and Krang says he is the total ruler of dimension X. I loved how they have mixed reviews of the turtles on the news, in the beginning there are sightings of them reported. did this look like the end to you? I heard this was a 5 part mini series and was supposed to end here.moreless
  • The wrath of Krang...

You watch this episode, thinking it's another filler, but no way!!! This is the spectacular Season 1 finale, where Shredder's Retro Mutagen Ray is the only thing to save Splinter, but it is fatal to the Turtles. The turtles have to go through the mutants, foot soldiers, and Jumbo Krang. Then Krangzilla goes on a rampage, and the Turtle Blimp comes out of nowhere, and Donatello's smarts get Krang back to economy size. Then the Technodrome is sucked into Dimension X?!! So is it the end. Nope, the saga has just begun. Woot for Ninja Turtles!!!!moreless

  • TRIVIA (7)

  • QUOTES (10)

    • Raphael: (At the computer) How do you work this oversized ghetto-blaster?
(The computer shows the portal room.)
Michelangelo: Look, it's the room with the gateway to Dimension X. (Krang in his body walks up, but the Turtles don't recognize him.) Who's that weirdo?
Raphael: I don't know, but the guy in his stomach looks like Krang.
Leonardo: He's preparing to bring his troops from Dimension X.
Rapahel: Not if we can help it. Come on!

    • (When the Foot Soldiers come out of the Technodrome)
Raphael: Great. Just what we needed- Kill crazed Foot Soldier bikers!

    • Krang: Now, reptiles, prepare to face... the wrath of Krang!!
Michelangelo: Wasn't that the name of a movie?
      Leonardo: I don't believe I saw it.
Raphael: And I don't believe I'm seeing this!

    • Bebop: (While he is strangling Splinter) We don't like rats like you in our fair city. Maybe I should just wring your stinkin' neck!!

    • Rocksteady: (Throws Raphael and Leonardo into garbage cans.) Oh, did I hurt youse? This'll make it better.
      (Starts firing electric gunfire.)

    • Rocksteady: Well well well! Looky what we found!!
Bebop: We got a score to settle with you little twoips!

    • Shredder: So sorry to bring this game to an early conclusion. (He pulls out a holographic device and traps Splinter in an energy dome) You wouldn't have won, anyway.

    • Shredder: Greetings, turtles! Observe what I have in my hand. It is a retromutagen ray generator, a device which undoes mutations. This is the only thing that can restore Splinter to the form of Hamato Yoshi. If you want it, come get it!

    • (Splinter reaches for the retro-mutatgen gun, only to finds it's a hologram)
      (Shredder holograms appear everywhere)
Shredder: So, you've come at last, Hamato Yoshi, here I am, or am I here, or here? (Laughs) I could be anywhere, even right behind you...
(The real Shredder takes a strike at Splinter, Splinter dodges the attack and attacks Shredder with his stick. Shredder flies into the machinery, all the holograms vanish)
Shredder: Lucky shot, old man, but if you want the retro-mutatgen ray you must first face my blades!
Splinter: And I will beat you, as I did when I was human.

    • (Shredder, who is welding the retro-mutatagen gun, corners the turtles)
Raphael: Well, guys, looks like it's back to the old pet shop for us!
Shredder: Far from it. Tonight I dine on Turtle Soup!

  • NOTES (11)

    • This marks the first time in the series a TMNT character grows into a giant, in this case Krang. This would later happen to Shredder and Irma in "Attack of the 50 Foot Irma", Donatello in "Turtles of the Jungle" and Michaelangelo (sort of) in "The Irish Jig is Up".

    • Beginning with this episode, several of Shredder's weapons would involve some kind of hope of (de)mutating the Turtles.

    • While the Foot Soldiers were shooting at the Turtles hanging on the ropes, Raphael is incorrectly colored as Donatello.

    • This episode was included on a laserdisc titled "The Shredder Is Splintered/Hot Rodding Teenagers".

    • The Turtlecoms and Krang's android body are introduced in this episode.

    • This episode is available on the "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles- Season One" DVD release.

    • This episode, along with other Season One episodes, were edited together and released in the U.S as a movie called "The Epic Begins", it had major edits made to it, such as the editing out of all Neutrino segments.

    • Footage from this episode "premiered" in the U.K for the first time with the video release "How it all Began", a horrfically edited video anthology containing the Season Three episode "Blast from the Past", "Return of the Shredder" and the first three parts of "The Eye of Zarnoth" saga.

    • This episode is also called "The Shredder Gets Splintered"

    • This is the first of many times that the Techndrome is vanquished. in this case, it sucks itself into dimension x, this would'nt be the first time that the machine would be sent there (See "The Big Blow-Up")

    • This Episode marks the first apperance of the Turtle Blimp

  • ALLUSIONS (3)

    • "So you've come at last, Hamato Yoshi."

The second movie quote by Shredder in this episode. This time a "Star Wars" reference. When Darth Vader and Obi Wan Kenobi faced off.

    • Krang: Now wretched reptiles, you will face the wrath of krang!
Michaelangelo: Wasn't that the name of a movie?
      Leonardo: I never saw it.

This is probably a reference to the movie Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan, which was released in 1982.

    • Shredder: "It's alive...It's ALIVE!!!
      Frankenstein....obviously...
