Episode Summary

EDIT
Splinter No More
AIRED:
Sensing Master Splinter's despair at his new life as a rat, the Turtles agree to use the small amount of mutagen that they have left to concoct a formula that will revert Splinter back into Yoshi. The experiment is a success and Yoshi decides to take a stroll, as a human, through the city.

Meanwhile, April is reporting Public Service Announcements from the local library when spies Rocksteady and Bebop. She immediately contacts the Turtles, who are depressed by the possibility that Master Splinter/Yoshi may never return and jump at the chance to divert their attention.

Besides, they suspect that Shredder must be nearby. The TMNT head straight for the Library, and sure enough, encounter Shredder and company, who of course, escape. However, they leave a clue behind. It seems that Shredder has stumbled onto a spell that will enable him to open a portal to any dimension he chooses.

The Turtles find a reference to a temple in an old subway terminal somewhere under the city that acts as a nexus - a point where many dimensions intersect. Now, all they have to do is find it before Shredder does.moreless

  • Nice. Loved it. Very dramatic Season 2 episode.

    9.3
Donatello has created an anti-mutagen to change Splinter back, but Splinter does not like being among humans. Meanwhile, Shredder has found a portal shrine in the subway and tries to activate it. The Turtles are messed up by one of Krang's gizmos and fight each other, but they remember that Splinter would hate to see them like this. So they continue and stop Shredder, with the help of Splinter, who did not have a permanent dose.moreless
  • Wow, this episode has something I thought I never would have saw. Splinter in human form!

    8.8
I enjoyed this episode. I loved the concept, and I found the whole Splinter turning back into a human idea to be great. Splinter doesn't last as a human very long, but I still liked the whole idea. The episode was more of Splinter than the turtles, and that okay because Splinter deserves an episode for himself. Season two of this show has a load of amazing things.

  • TRIVIA (4)

    • When Splinter first sees the manhole in the street, the cars are driving on the left side of the street as they would in England. When he gets down to the street, they are driving on the right side as they would in New York.

    • The letters on the Turtles' belts are white instead of grey.

    • When Splinter mutates back into a rat, parts of his clothes disappear in stages throughout the episode.

    • When the turtles are in the library, Bebop & Rocksteady attempt attacking. Leonardo then throws one of his swords into a furnace which blows smoke at Bebop and Rocksteady. You see Leonardo with both swords still on his back after he previously throws one.

  • QUOTES (7)

    • (Donatello bumps into Raphael)
Raphael: Hey! Watch where you're going, nerd!
Donatello: Who you callin' a nerd? Wimp.
Leonardo: Cut it out! We got no time for this.
Michaelangelo: Butt out, geek! You're gettin' too big for your shell.
Leonardo: Oh, yeah? Maybe you'd like to tangle with this, turtle.
      Michaelangelo: With pleasure!

    • (While reading)
Shredder: This is it! The key to other realms!
Rocksteady: What's a key doing in your book?

    • Bebop: Give us a break, boss.
Rocksteady: Yeah. Everyone can make a mistake.
Shredder: If I didn't need you two in the next few hours, I would sell you to a freak show.

    • (Bebop and Rocksteady are caught by the alien and Shredder rescues them)
Bebop: Thanks for rescuing us, boss.
Shredder: I only did it so that I could think of a suitable punishment for you later--now run!

    • Shredder: The Turtles did what?
Bebop: (Snorts) Give us a break, boss.
Rocksteady: Yeah, anybody can make a mistake.
      Bebop: Yeah, especially us.

    • (Bebop and Rocksteady run away)
Raphael: For a rhino and a warthog, they sure are chicken.

    • Bebop: So, like, uh -- what you reading, boss?
Shredder: If I told you cretins, your feeble brains would fail to comprehend it. So why bother?
Rocksteady: Oh, he's right. None of these books got no pictures.
